      Onironauta's Workbook

      Hi everyone,
I just started my experience in Lucid Dreaming, and I'm very motivated, because I think that being lucid and being a sort of a "god" in my subconscious mind is quite the most awesome and interesting thing I can do in my life without taking hallucinogens

I started just a couple of days ago, and I'm still stuck at dream recalling of course.
I had never really payed attention at my dreams, so I have to start from scratch.

Even before I looked to this part of the forum, I was keeping a workbook, which was in Italian, my first language. In the next post I'll translate the first two entries and put them online

Reality checks: Trying to breathe through my pinched nose, looking at hands and seeing if my wooden ring which is broken in the middle is still the way it is, trying to read something, look away and trying to read it again, trying to recall what I was doing before the situation I am in.

Dream signs: Having registered only one full dream, I am not sure, however from the fragments of dream I remember I'd say
-Things that happened me in the 4-5 days before the dreams
      -People I know
      -Fantasy Elements

Induction metod I am using NOW
Mainly MILD, some attempts at WBTB, WILD, VILD.

Objectives for the first 30 days: Recall at least 20 dreams, get at least a couple of lucid dreams.

Long-term objectives: Play an instrument in my dreams, talk with my subconscious.

      First 2 days.

      Spoiler for :

I'll calm down and write it again.

      Day 1 (28/08/2012)
I start today my experience. After learning some more, I begin to establish that the first goal to achieve is to remember your dreams, which is why I keep this diary, which also will mark the course of the night. I begin now to make sistematically reality checks (preferably that of the nose, but also reading and hands). I also joined a forum that I hope will help me in my journey.()
Tonight I think I'll try to sleep repeating the mantra "I will wake up from dreams and I remember them fully." I will not make use of alarms during the night, I will try to use them starting tomorrow if I will not get positive results.
Now my goal is also partially to make a lucid dream, but I do not think, however, even though I am making a habit of always reality check, that I will succeed.
Tonight I'll go to sleep not too tired and in normal conditions, around midnight.

Goal of the night: remember at least one dream

Conditions of the night: small quantity of alcohol in the body, no thc.

      Sleep start time: about 1:00

      Wake up time: 8:35

Night report: Before falling asleep I tried a WILD, but after the appearance of an hypnagogic image (the face of an angry dog jumping and barking at me) eyes have begun to open their own and I gave up.
I woke up a couple of times during the night in the middle of dreams, but I had no strength to write also because the memories were too fragmented, at least until the final awakening of 8:35. Then I tried a WBTB with a MILD (repeating "I'll do a reality check when I'll notice something unusual") but I could not get to sleep.
I'm quite happy with how it went, I did at least 3 or 4 dreams and for one of them I was able to write and remember enough details. I hate not being lucid already, but after all it is only the first night.

Dream report: see the first post of my dream journal.

      Day 2 (29/08/12)

I think today I will try to use the WBTB joined the MILD right away, so with less sleep. [...] I've changed my mind, I will practice a combination of daily mantra to become an actor in my dreams (in fact, I noticed that for now they are just a spectator outside) and at night I will dedicate myself to a simple MILD. After a week of these exercises I'll pass to WBTB and MILD.
Tonight I will try to stay awake after each dream and to write it down.

Mantra of the Day: I am the lead of my dreams

Mantra of the night I wake up after each dream and I will remember. - I do reality check during dreams.

Goal of the night: Remember at least one dream, possibly become lucid

      Sleep start time: about 1:50

      Wake up time: 9:20

Conditions of the night: no alcohol, no thc

Dream report: I can only vaguely remember that recurred the fantasy element, which could be a possible dream sign.

Night report: Disappointing night, probably due to the fact that I went to sleep too late and too tired.
I woke up a couple of times during the night, not being able to recall anything, and even at 9:20 my memories were quite blurry.

      Day 3

      Day 3 (30/08/2012)

Today I'll repeat the same I did yesterday in order to achieve at least the result of remembering clearly a dream.
I won't try to get lucid dreams during the night, and I'll just do a simple MILD.
I'll begin to use WBTB joined to MILD only when I've recorded at least 10 vivid dreams or 4 vivid dreams in a row, and only then will try to get lucid dreams.
I also invented a new mantra to move the dreams in first person: "I dream as I live."
Mantra of the Day: "I dream as I live"
Mantra of the night: "I'll wake up after each dream and I will remember"

Night conditions: no alcohol, slight amount of THC

      Sleep start time: around 1:00
      Programmed wake hour: 8:35
      Actual wake hour: 10:15

Night report: I'm pretty satisfied with this night, I had a dream rather vivid and detailed, and above all I seem to have lived the dream in first person, so I'm convinced that the mantra worked. It's strange that I remembered it so well since I went back to sleep before writing it down, as far as I remember, since this dream had ended with the awakening of 8:35, and not with the one at 10:15.

Dream report: Take a look at my dream journal, "A night in Moscow."

LOOOL i'm really sorry to hear that! I went through that as well when I first joined haha.

      Anyway, to the Intro Class!

I love your DJ format btw. It's very comprehensive and helpful. :3 When you have a few weeks' worth of dreams in your DJ, you can find more dream signs. Check this out: http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/cant-f...s-read-135497/

      See ya around. Happy dreams

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Hi, and thanks a lot for the suggestions, I'm also really glad to know you like how I wrote the journal

      Day 4 (31/08/2012)

Today, in addition to repeating the usual mantra, I did a little practice with all day with awareness. I did less reality checks than the past days (about one every two hours today), but always trying to ask myself "Am I in a dream?" and thinking before doing a "physical" reality check. I do not know if tonight I'll be able to keep a dream journal because I could sleep outside and not be in a position to have a good ability to remember, since there is a sort of second new year's eve organized by the city I live in. However I'll bring a notebook with me just in case.

Goal of the night: being able to remember something

Conditions of the night: Appreciable amounts of alcohol in the body, notable amount of thc

      Sleep start time: around 2:00
      Wake up time: around 7:30

Night report: Absolutely the less fruitful night as I expected. I slept badly and woke up several times during the night, without remembering anything while focusing. This is almost certainly due to the physical and mental condition I was in and the fact that I was not at my house or even sleeping in a real bed.

Dreams report: Nothing that I can remember.

Aww, I wouldn't feel bad about it, as long as you had a good time at the "new year's eve" party
