      Sleep walking whilst Dreaming?

The other night i was dreaming about indians, i was a cowboy, and we were fighting a huge group of indians. Suddenly as they started approaching me i turend around to look for the rest of the cowboys, but no ones was there. So i started running, but by this time i was half awake. Although i knew waht i was doing i couldnt control it and i started runing around the hosue screaming that indians where chasing me. My parents had no idea what was goin on and it took them a good 15 minutes to calm me down. A similar thing has happened to me before when i was about 10. In my dream i walked down stairs and opend the fridge to look for some food, but the fridge was totally empty. Still hungry i slept walked into the lounge took a plate of buiscuits from some visitors we had over, sat down and started eating them, they had no idea what was goin on and without a word i got up and went back to bed. Both times i only rember bits of what i was doing but had no conrtol what so ever. What happened???

That sounds like a really interesting dream Chalkie!

Usually when in REM sleep your mind is disconnected from your bodily functions (i think that’s what inhibits the sensation of waking up when your body is still asleep).

I’ve seen a few programs on TV that talks about sleep walking, i couldn’t really say what happened to you (maybe someone else could) but try and put something above your bedroom door, like a wind chime or something then when you leave your room hopefully the noise will wake you up or alert your parents
"I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me to see me looking back at you".

      Agreed

I know exactly what you are talking about, it happened to me twice when I was little. About age 10. I had the flu or something with fever, my parents were out and my sister was taking care of me, she was only 12 then. Anyways I was dreaming that the world was comming to an end, like the ULTIMATE apocalypse of good an evil, i mean REALLY BAD STUFF, anyway I must have had sleep paralysis of some sort, but what I can remember was screaming my head off, awake not dreaming, but for some reason the dream I had had and reality were mixed. So my sister comes running into my room, scared as hell, and asks me what wrong, and i start crying and telling her we have to get out of the house cause the world is comming to an end. It took her 15 minutes to calm me down. You have to understand I was 10, at that age (at least for me) you dont cry let alone scream your head off after a nightmare. This nightmare with the apocalypse was a reacuring dream which resulted in sleep paralyis every time. That was one of the worst experiances in my child hood, the problem being that this haunted me for a long long time, when I would force myself to stay up and not sleep in the fear that it would happen again. Im older now, no more sleep paralysis and that apocalypse dream is also gone.

The dream was unlike any dream I have ever had before. It did not have people or any human things in it...
What made it so scary was that everything in it was undescirbable...
the actual dream, everything was black, and there would be a HUGE sphere, i mean gigantic... infinatly huge.. and there would also be sand... tiny small sand...
something about the siezes of the two elements and their relation of size with each other would freak me out.. its hard to explaine..
it made no sence whatsoever, I was almost as if the big and small objects were symbols for something supernatural...
I would have this dream about 4 times a year...
      hope that helped..

      ok me too i think!

basically this has happened to me about 3 times in my life (19yrs old) and like semihappened several times also.

almost indescribable, basically there is like a sequence of an event or something you have to do over and over, and when you do it wrong you then know ur trapped stuck there until the end of the world, kinda. each time the theme varies, but that seems to be the basic thing happening.

really hard to explain, although one time it merged my dream with reality, sounds kinda silly (this is when i was younger), but like somehow id been turned to wood (pinocheo?) and id obviosuly shown distress, my parrents had woke me and i was in my room entirely convinced it was true. I can't then really remember going back to sleep, was blury till i woke up next morning but they told me about it.

Although the dream is kinda unexplicably distressing, I also long for it to come back as its so unusual. Can anybody shed any light?

      Yes

Now that i think of it... that exactly what heppend!
I had to do something or other, something that was impossible.. to do with the sand and the big sphere, i think i had to do it again and again,
but for some reason it would mess up, and the sphere would come down on me, or i would be swollowed by it..

but definatly something to do with me having to do something that was increadibly hard.
      btw im 20 now

oh mine was more like I could see the sun blowing up on an old tv screen, and it was extremely freaky at the time. Unrealistic I know, but thats why its a dream.
