      Falling down after becoming lucid

      Hey guys.

After hearing about lucid dreaming, I immediately began trying everything I could to get lucid. I naturally have a pretty good dream recall (I can remember a dream a night unless I'm stressed out).

The first night after I found out about lucid dreaming, during one of my dreams, I realized I was dreaming. However, the second I did I felt weak and fell down. It then felt as I was falling through a vortex or something. Soon after I woke up. A couple weeks later, I again realized I was dreaming, but again I felt weak and fell down.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this and/or knows what is wrong and if there is a fix? Its very frustrating as I really would like to explore my dreams, but it seems I can never because I keep falling down in the dream.

It's likely that it's because you're waking up. A number of times when I've become lucid where everything goes black, but if I relax and keep reminding myself that I'm dreaming and eventually I go back into the dream. I also rub my hands together and/or walk around so that I can focus more on the feel of my dream body, which I've found helps keep me in the dream.

So, my recommendation would be to just keep trying and eventually it will either go away or you'll be able to go through it without any problems. Just remember to relax and keep reminding yourself that you're in a dream. Also, make sure to do reality checks, even if you think you're awake, as you could still be dreaming.

See you around and sweet lucid dreams!
