I have been looking around this forum for a while and tried many techniques (WILD, for that matter) but without success. I can remember dream on the night I have them very well, but would forget about them when I approach my other tasks in life. If the dream is very interesting, I tend to remember them till lunch (more than 4 hours after waking up). In rare cases, if the dream is extremely interesting (ex. my first erotic dream about my classmates which became my crush), I tend to remember it for life.
This night I has my first lucid dream, a short lived DILD which I suddenly achieve realization accidentally. I then proceed to control the dream without doing reality check since time is running out. (Fact from this forum that first lucid dreams are short lived) By the time I found my crush and start engaging, I woke up already.
Here is my question.
How can I prolong the lucid dream? If my first DILD is by accident, can I do it again? Is LD something you could do every day or once to twice a week only?
Ps. When I tried to do a erotic WILD, it doesn't work at all since my heart raced at the thought of it. (I tried to imagine every detail of the dream I had to continue from there) This made me give up on WILD and LD altogether. But when I has this DILD, it made me want to try all over again.
Ps2. I normally don't keep dream journal since I can remember dreams anyways.
Ps3. Disappointed when woke up (can't get in to the erotic part *sobbs)
Dream journal in spoiler.
Spoiler for Dream Journal:
The First Dream.
I dreamt about an episode of Garfield animation where he attempt to annoy and torture the mailman that delivers the mail to the owner's house. Then I thought of how I could do better, then suddenly without realizing went to do the mailman's job for him. I successfully warded of Garfield for the first few runs in my dream (only dreamt about the mail delivery routine, the dream fast foward to the next day), then he became sort of an undead/dark type of creature which comes back even when I threw him off the 4th floor of a building of my school (Which appeared to be much higher when I looked out like it was the 30th or 40th floor). Then I offered him his favorite dish, a lasagna, to reconciliate but another person ate it. He then comes back at me with full force, and then I changed the scene and dream all together. (Out of fear)
*The Garfield turning into the dark side-ish stuff may be attributed to the movie Coraline I watched before I went to bed.
*The longest of the night
The Second Dream
I dreamt about my parent's subordinate has a dog which hates me. It then have an cute puppy offspring about the size of my hand which I taped to my chin. We then went to a supermarket to eat. Then the puppy got squashed by the force of the tape and got separated. Out of guilt, I went to find the pet's isle but cannot find it. I walked around the store several times but to no avail. Then I woke up because of the alarm.
*Short Dream, but longer than the lucid dream.
The Lucid Dream. [Full control]
I was walking through a hallway in a mall when I see many schoolgirls walking by, then one of them approached me and talked to me. After seeing that, I had a sudden realization that I was dreaming (I said to myself "I am dreaming"), then proceed to take control of my dreams [I knew in the dream I would wake up very soon since lucid dream doesn't last very long]. I then initiate an attempt at erotic dreaming. I continued to walk then found an old classmate in a leotard approaching me which I then I engage in pre-sexual activity which then aroused her. Then I thought of my crush and found her in the next store with her boyfriend. When I approach her with the intent of doing a sexual intercourse, she responded while another classmate approach and become her boyfriend's partner instead. The girls then began chewing gum to mask the mouth odor before having sex. After that, I woke up without doing any sexual activity.
*Woke up at 5:30 am on the next day to turn off the alarm, and went back to sleep. The realization occured during the 3 hour sleep I had. (Woke up for real)
*Dream time last about 3 to 5 minutes
*Did not do any dream exercise before sleep
*Cannot stop them from chewing gum since I hate candies and gum of sort (Rather, choose not to stop since I know lucidity time is running out.)

The dream journal objective - by writing in it - is to stress your brain and put the dreams in order, making your recall better. This is the first step - if you jumped it, you'll not progress.
Check the tutorials about clarity and dreamtime, you'll see how to prolong the dream by rubbing hands, spining and anchoring.
You can keep a notebook by your bed, upon waking up you write some keywords about your dream, so you'll remember it later and write in your digital DJ.
When you say:
[I knew in the dream I would wake up very soon since lucid dream doesn't last very long
Lucids CAN last long - you need only to stabilize and use the right methods.
