Welcome to the forum!
I used to have natural LD's, but they stopped about a year ago. It was very similar to just waking up in the middle of a dream. Nothing remarkable would happen, I'd just be walking along and suddenly the dream would become lucid.
Anyway, lucidity can be very helpful in every day life, especially in sports and the like. When you move in a dream, you build 'muscle memory', simply put, it becomes easier to perform that motion in real life. Like riding a bike, it's difficult at first, but after a while, it becomes second nature. You can harness this in a dream to master snowboarding, martial arts, pretty much anything. One guideline though; It's not going to help you if you've never done it before in real life. The mind needs an experience to build on, or it won't be realistic and won't help you. There's a few other applications as well, including overcoming phobias. Hope it helped!
