is this supposed to happen?

So i had one lucid dream a few years back- it was a false awakening. my brother taught me last year what lucid dreaming was. Since summer has started, ive been having very vivid colrful dreams and im starting to remember a lot- what people say, what labels of food look like, and people's names. So then all the sudden i had a lucid(kinda) dream because i knew i was dreaming and i could tell i was in my french classroom- i could even tell my freind wasnt in her seat- but not because i could see her- i like, sensed it. But the dream was really blurry and i remember thinking that- this is a dream! but it was really hard to move and i couldnt see everything was too blurry. then i gave up and woke up. so i searched online and got into lucid dreaming. for the past month or two ive been keeping a dream journal and researching, but ive had no luck. also- i guess ib=ve been sleeping with my eyes open? i had a dream my poster was talking to me then i woke up- and i was staring right at the poster at the same angle and everything. this has happened a few times. any tips?

I doubt you're sleeping with your eyes open. Dreams can be THAT trippy.. I've been in loops before by constant false awakenings. The reason you couldn't do anything in the dream you became aware is because it was extremely unstable. This is common for a lot of first timers; try looking into some stabalizing methods, such as rubbing your hands. Other than that, try and be more aware of your surroundings. If you want to be aware in your dreams, you have to be aware in waking life.
