Cool hey guys and girls, first post after first LD of trying it for one night

      hey people,

i am hooked on this and want to know everything so any info can help me alot and i'd appreciate it greatly.

i went to sleep last night repeating the affirmation, 'tonight i will know i am dreaming and take control of my dream' over and over. it felt like the first dream i had i became lucid, i only really remember doing a RC (touching the palm of my hand to see if my finger went through or stretched) my palm stretched.

when i woke up i remember remembering my dream and thinking it was so clear i will be able to remember it, alas i slept and dreamt other normal dreams and forgot my LD this morning.

i have been doing the checks and affirmations all day today and tonight i shall take a pad and pen to sleep with me so when i wake i can instantly right down what i remember

I hate when you have such a great dream in the middle of the night and by the time morning rolls around it's gone. You're not alone in that, but that's awesome that you recalled that you were in fact lucid! Congratulations!

One thing I'd recommend is to not let yourself get overly excited. Make sure to relax and take a few moments to calm down before bed, because if you're psyched up that you're going to have this super-awesome lucid dream again, you might find it hard to fall asleep. Expect to realize you're dreaming again, but don't allow yourself to get stressed.

We're glad you joined us here at DV and let us know if there's any ways we can help!

i used the search function to find this thread as the exact same thing happened to me last night! I had a LD earlier in the night, but when I woke up to write everything down, a lot of the details are gone. I think as we get better, we will have more LDs later in our sleep, positively effecting both vividness and recall.
