what is the best way to relax or fall asleep very fast ?

      i have problems with sleep.
especially now when i am trying ld.

In beginning i concentrate on breath (in -1,out 2,in 3 out 4) and then (about 50) i feel that my legs and arms are heavy an warm, and i start to loosing them, not feel them, and then i am starting to think "HURRAY I AM IN TRANCE, I will make my ld, Hurray", and then i am so excited that my heart starting to beat like 120bpm and can not sleep anymore. and whole night is shit without sleep.

are there some methods to fall asleep very very fast to make mild or wbtb later ? just to paas through n rem and other phases until rem ?

or are they some methods to just go to bed at 10.00pm and go fast and directly into rem ?
maybe some NLP or time line ?

+ i thing that i have ADHD in my legs.
sometimes when i try to relax without moving legs i feel so terrible pain in them that i have to move them.
pain and tension.and if i move them - few minutes ok and later again.... shit.

Wink This could go a few ways

As I'm new to the concept of lucid dreaming, and trying to remember dreams, this may not be 100% accurate. There are 2 ways I can fall asleep fast. The first is staying up till midnight, then falling asleep from exhaustion. Not very good for lucid dreaming, or if you have an appointment in the morning. My secound trick, is to have a continous backround noise running; a loud fan, or a steady repeating noise. Music and TV do not count. As for lucid dreaming, I cannot tell you because I do bit yet know. As for exciting yourself, try to not tell yourself your gana have a lucid dream. Have you notices how you couldn't sleep at night, because of anticipation, and tto fall asleep, you lied to yourself and you found it easier to sleep? I imagin, you could use the same strategy there. If this doesn't work, then tell yourself to calm down. Your heart rate, can also go down if you think of peacefull things... IE: I think of the ocean because I love the sea.

If any of this sounds wacky, please understand that I wrote all this down, after 6 hours of sleep, awaking in the fourth rem stage, and am proud to say I remember 3 details... (pretty good for first time!)

this is a broad topic, there are several sourced of information for relaxation and falling asleep and tons of threads on this forum. look around.

-are you trying to WILD, cause it sounds like it. this is very difficult as you are going to bed and is generally done w WBTB...
-dont eat a heavy meal before bed
-begin winding down before you go to bed
      -exercise during the day
-you could listen to some soothing music and/or binauraul beats / isochronic tones before bed
-try to keep a consistent bedtime
-make a point not to worry about the things you have to do tomorrow till tomorrow
-DEFINITELY DO NOT THINK"HURRAY I AM IN TRANCE, I will make my ld, Hurray" being in trance does not mean you will make your ld

WBTB would definitely seem appropriate for keeping you tired. Finding the best time will take a couple tries, since you want to get up right after you finish your deeper sleep patterns so you can go back to bed when you start the longer REM periods. I usually get up after 4 hours and stay up for an hour.

As for your excitement... there's not much you can do about that until you become more comfortable and have practiced many times at staying calm. You could try an affirmation before you go to bed such as "I will remain calm and relaxed when I try to induce lucid dreams".

I think the pain in your legs might be your body testing to see if you're still awake or not before it enters sleep paralysis. I've had it hurt like that before and I couldn't overcome it. Sleep paralysis can be pretty tricky to work with.

You can try Yoshi's WILD Technique, as it incorporates moving around.

There are plenty of relaxation techniques, but the following are found to be useful to me
      1. Get enough sunlight during the day
      2. Exercise for half an hour 3-4 hours prior to bedtime
      3. Take meals at least 1hr before bedtime.
      4. Take a shower
      5. Imagine relaxing your eyes (difficult to start with, but once you get there, there is no other better method)
      6. Be conscious about your conscious only. Try to erase thoughts, be with you.
