Cool New to the Forum. Intro and info on my dream control

Hello, I am new to the forum and discovered this after finally doing an online search about my dream control. I didnt know the term was Lucid Dreaming until now. Ironically I also just saw "Inception" which reminded me of my dreams. I know this is a long read, but if your patient and read through this it should give a pretty thorough look into my situation. And I should add that I in no way, shape, or form was trying to make these things happen. But once I was dreaming and realized it I would seize the moment and go with it.

Within the last couple of years I have noticed some strange things in regards to my sleeping and dreaming. It started with my having times when I would feel asleep and awake at the same time. What I mean is Id be dreaming and wake up, but not completely and the dream I was having and reality would mix. I felt as if I was pulling parts of reality as I was waking up and looking around my room back into my dream. For example I can remember having a dream about someone standing in my room and looking at me, and then halfway waking up and seeing my sweater hanging up near my closet, then pulling that conscious image back into my dream and the image of the sweater was now the outline of the person in my dream. I have done this several times.

This evolved into what Im guessing was the next step of the LD. What happens now is that I have gotten fairly frequent and almost complete control over my dreams. Being completely aware that Im dreaming, with the people around me totally oblivious to this. And then me knowing that they had no idea they were just part of my dream and because of that I could completely take advantage of the situation. And after having this happen several times, combined with just finishing watching the movie "Inception" is what got me to do a search online to see if this was common.

Heres an example of these more recent dreams. The details and context are a little embarrassing so I wont go into that at the moment. But what I will say is that I had complete control over the context of the dream. Where I was, what I was doing, and knowing it was a dream. I was walking down a street and walked into a house that I knew wasnt mine, or of anyone that I knew. But at the same time knowing that it didnt matter that it was a strangers house because I was dreaming and had complete control over what happened. And I was right. A woman and her mother came out, and even though I didnt know them I made them know me. And they became my girlfriend and her mother. And all this time I was 100% aware that I was sleeping and dreaming and knew it was all in my control. What took place after that was like I said not exactly something I want to go into detail about. But Ill just tell you Im a 35yr old single male, and Im sure you can fill in the blanks. And NO the mother wasnt involved. LOL

I had no idea until now that this was something other people can do, and actually try to do. But its nice to have found this forum. At least I know Im not some weird freak.

      Welcome

Kind of sounds like a false awakening? So if I'm clear, you mean you would dream that you have woken up, right?

For example I can remember having a dream about someone standing in my room and looking at me, and then halfway waking up and seeing my sweater hanging up near my closet, then pulling that conscious image back into my dream and the image of the sweater was now the outline of the person in my dream.
This sounds like a great way for you to do WILDs (wake induced lucid dreams) From the sounds of it, your sweater became a visual hallucination, and you were able to train your mind to remember that it's your sweater as you fell back to sleep and the sweater melded into a dream. At least, that's my take on it. But anyways, it's a WILD, nonethless

Some people do this through sound. Think of a white-noise sound, like a fan. Some people start hearing sounds coming from the fan, that can turn into speaking, which leads into a dream

What took place after that was like I said not exactly something I want to go into detail about.
Hah, that reminds me of my last lucid, where I told the dream character, "We're going to do it, now!" and they looked utterly shocked! And I'm a 27 year old female
