      New Guy

      Hello everyone,

I recently became interested in lucid dreaming, went searching on the internet for helpful information, and ended up on this website (pretty cool place). I've only had one full lucid dream, and that was before I was really even interested in it. I was walking down a road and suddenly I realized, "Hey, I'm dreaming!". I had heard that once you become lucid you can do things in your dream, so I tried flying. It was one of the coolest things I've ever experienced. I decided to fly up higher to get a aerial view of the earth and then flew past our galaxy and to the edge of the universe (I've seen a lot of photos from the Hubble telescope, so I assume that's where I was getting my references from). I could see galaxies and stars. It was so cool.

Lately I've been trying to stay very aware and use reality checks so that I might begin DILD'ing more. Two or three days ago I had a dream where I was standing in my bathroom. Someone began floating up from behind my shower curtain. This wasn't scary at all, but I immediately realized that it was a dream (people don't float!) At that point I started becoming pretty lucid, but my mom came and knocked on the door and woke me up.

Last night i had a really long dream in which the dream version of me and all the characters in my dreams knew I was lucid dreaming. They asked me to morph them into other people so that the police couldn't find us. I can't remember what, but apparently we were doing something illegal. The thing is, I wasn't really lucid (I dont think). The dream was centered around being lucid and in the dream I was, but it was like I had a separate consciousness controlling the dream and myself.

Was that just beginners luck the first time? I know it takes a lot of work, I guess I'm just excited reading the other posts (can't wait to have a lot of awesome experiences).

      Thanks.

Lot of such lucky people around. Some people find it to become lucid by just being aware of that phenomenon and without even trying.

Well, I'm looking forward to becoming a more proficient dreamer. This site is really great, I think hanging around here will help get me in the right frame of mind. Plus, its really cool reading about other people's dreams. Maybe one day I'll be able to have dreams as fascinating as the ones I'm reading about.

It's odd, but I find dreams are the easiest things to read... I'm an avid reader and have read several 2k+ page novels (fiction and non) and reading dreams is like reading a good book. Anyays, so jealous of ppl that have lucids... Every time I try, it feels like I'm entering a play that I can't win... (introducing: into the lucid zone)

Change this mindset and move with a positive attitude. Simply pretend yourself that you can do it. Good Luck
