I think the greatest tool we have at our disposal to discover Lucid Dreaming is TIME. If we expect results without participating with the research and commitment, we will end up falling on our feet at the first step (like I do all the time with life and dreaming).
I’m not an expert on Lucid Dreaming, but it looks like you made the first step of realising your in a dream, just takes time to realise the next step. The next step will come naturally with time; if you focus on recall like you have been doing for a few more weeks. Keep asking yourself “Am I Dreaming?” and relate it to something in your waking hours (e.g. Do a reality check when you ask yourself that question and focus on an item that might be strange or unusual). Attach meaning to Dream Signs, for example, if you see things in your dream (from reading your journal) that reoccur over and over (e.g. Arguing with a Friend, Walking in a Forrest) try and ask yourself those question when in that situation, “Am I Dreaming”? Then try and work out if you are asleep or awake.
