In general whahuhduh. I just want to make things clear.

I have read the FAQ and the tutorials. I just want to ease into this so I don't do something horribly stupid. I have now come to see lucid dreaming as awareness of dreams and that you are dreaming. Some have said that lucid dreaming has nothing to do with how you can control a dream, but much feedback from the FAQ has said otherwise. I just want a definite answer of what lucid dreaming is since I get so many mixed ones. Connotation may not be the best way, but it will help me out.

I have been writing down my dreams for two weeks and I usually only remember one. I can get two if I am lucky. I realize I am semi-aware I'm dreaming. I can just look at a place and say i'm dreaming to myself. I really cannot control anything other than my own actions in my dream. I am just wondering if anyone could tell me where I should go from here.

Well it seems like you are in Lucid Purgatory (i kinda made that up just now)...

I am semi aware sometimes too.

I suggest for your first attempt at dream control to just try and walk somewhere. Even if its something like "walking over there". Thats a good step.

Check out the dream control forum too.

Lucid dreaming is simply knowing that you're dreaming when you're dreaming. Your level of control depends on how lucid you are. In a low level lucid, you'll know you're dreaming but won't have any control. Contrastly, a high-level LD can feel more real than reality and you can do whatever you want.

Yume, when you become lucid (meaning you are FULLY aware that you're dreaming) and wish to gain more control, try stating "INCREASE LUCIDITY!" Things should get brighter and crisper. If that happens, try simple control things first.. such as flying or walking thru a wall.

Control really boils down to belief. You don't "think" you can do or change things, you "know" you can and you simply expect that it will happen.

Control also comes with practice... don't worry.. you'll get there! :-)
