      First attempt

I was at a lan party, and my friends and I were looking through this big .RAR of random pictures that would illustrate how to do various strange things. One of them described Lucid Dreams, and how to enter them. I thought I should give it a shot so I lied down on the couch on my back, crossed my arms, and just stared at the ceiling until i felt my eyes start to close. I wasn't falling asleep, I was very much conscious and I refused to move whenever I got an urge to. I felt like my mind opened up, and some really really REALLY random thoughts began cycling through my head. I think at some point I had some dreams, but the problem was that if someone made a noise in the room, I would instantly come out, and forget what it was about. However, I stayed still and never moved. Apparently I laid there perfectly still for 2 hours, but It honestly couldn't tell you how long it felt to me, I just have no real memory of what I was experiencing, and I guess it kinda felt like 20-30 minutes. But I never moved one inch! And, during those two hours, my friends had looked through the other 300+ pictures, and laughed at some, and were talking about others, and when they went back through them, I remembered hearing them talking about them, although I couldn't remember before they showed me. So it seemed to me that I was conscious through the whole 2 hours, but also dreaming, and I have next to no memory of the experience. So, What exactly happened?

      EDIT:
Oh, and also at one point, while i was refraining from itching my nose, and I was 100% conscious, but I remember actually reaching up and itching my nose, and afterward I asked my friends and I never moved, not even once. So i guess I dreamed that I itched my nose?

Hi there spiffy. I'm new here too. I believe the technique you have used is the WILD technique. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I think you experienced a lucid dream with sub-conscious control, where you controlled your dream but you have no recognition of it. I myself seem to get these, though I have not used this technique.
