      New kid on the block.

      Sup.

Im Dan, im 13, British and im a guy. And clearly, im trying to Lucid dream.

My Internet buddy and I are both attempting Lucid dreaming. We've both been trying for awhile, but now we actually have been making some serious effort. She seems to be closer to dreaming Lucidly than I do, as she's attained Sleep Paralysis a few times; whereas my dream re-call seems to be quite strong. On average i remember 3 dreams a night, except last night where I'd had two cans of Dr. Pepper, couldn't sleep and thus only remembered one. I digress, my dream recall is pretty good, and I have a dream diary; albeit a small one. I've been going about 3-4 days, and I do reality checks every hour roughly on the hour. These reality checks include: The old Pinch nose shut mouth; pinching my arm; checking my watch, looking away and looking back.

Well I've never achieved Lucidity, but I know all the tricks. I have yet to work out my dream signs though.

      Welcome.

Try others reality checks, the arm pinching isn't good, you'll feel pain in dreams as you feel in waking life.
Try the nose pinch and looking at hands.

Ok, I tried WILD, and it worked pretty well. My arms and legs felt like bricks, and soon I could barely feel them at all. I focused very hard on our local field, imaging it was a sunny day, and I could faintly hear birds chirping. I believed I was there, and soon I felt as if the hot sun was all over me, and I could hear a voice calling out my name, inviting me to get up and run. I told myself thats where I was, and that when I opened my eyes I would be there. I felt as if I was sort of walking through a door into the area, finally putting myself in the scene, but it never happened. I didn't ever dream, I eventually snapped back and regained feeling again. Any tips on how I can push myself into the dream?

      Sup, Dan. B| -newbie bro-fist-

...I tried a WILD last night, too. I laid down with my arms slightly spread at my sides and my legs straight and let myself drift but kept my thoughts on the subject of dreaming and reality checks. Eventually I started to feel fizzy all over, like I was dissolving, and I found that I could still very easily move my fingers, but I had no sensation of actually touching them. I was seeing flashes and stars on my eyelids and everything was bright like someone had turned on a light in the room (even though I didn't hear anyone.) I figured that this was the first part of hypnagogic imagery, so I started to imagine myself on a shallow beach with the surf rolling around me. I could feel the water very vividly and I began to hear a sound like the wind, but over the course of a few minutes the entire sensation faded away. I waited a few more minutes after that, sat up, did a reality check and I was still awake. I didn't feel like I was being paralyzed at any time - did I just start to visualize too fast or something?
