hands in dreams

Hi, I have only had one lucid dream and my RC was that i looked at my hands and they looked weird. Is looking at your hands always a reliable RC? I ask because it is the easiest check to perform.. there may not always be a clock, writing, or a dream sign around.

I use the breathing RC, that's when you pinch your nose and try to breathe through it. IMO it's the best and most reliable RC there is and it's so easy. But I tried to look at my hands just to see what happens and it was so weird. My fingers were appearing and disappearing.
