Newbie Here... nothing new in newbie zone eh?

Heyyyy just joined DV a couple of days ago, i've had lucid dreams occasionally growing up where to the point i have control (am 21 now). I want to train and tone myself to the point where i can have it every night or whenever i can. I usually remember my dreams when i wake up and i started a DJ last night and already recalled 5 separate dreams.

I'm open to new techniques and all that but am ambitious, i know this process requires patience but any help or tips would be nice.

Well thats interesting. I began with OBE's and have been able to lucid dream without knowing. It's pretty neat that you can remembered the five seperate dreams i can do the same but not know intricate detail.

Hi, I don't remember any LDs from childhood except one I think and none when I was in my 20s..I'm not really sure... You are right that it is a lengthy process because it's very subjective..what works for me may not work for you so it's alot of testing. I've been doing it for more than 4 years but I think it's the best 4 years of my life doing something great. Now I'm working on a light cue similar to DreamMask idea but I'm not implying that regular tech don't work and using cues has it's problems and pitfalls also. The best for new LDers I'd suggest using day residue or what many would call MILD. I'm sure there's a light switch in your home...first you have to 'preset' what normal is. Before doing any RC you have to assume you are NOT DREAMING but you assume this only once for the 'preset' so of course when you are NOT DREAMING the lights will work normally and then you certify this state of working condition of the light by doing the RC eg..finger counting, watch check and it show's you are not. After you are sure what normal is...you can proceed to do the light check anytime but also do an RC to confirm after the check because if you don't you also won't in the dream even if the lights fail. Then comes MILD...to trigger the day residue about RCing with the light switch..it's up to you how to MILD but for me I use repetition of visual items until I fall asleep. Hope this helps your chances....

Yeah, i dont remember the exact dreams as a child but i remember that i had them, thats the thing tho. Ironically last night i think i achieved an lucid dream for a very short time regardless how long, it was a lucid dream so if i continue to practice im sure it will elongate and i'll achive more control. I dont know why i remember intricate detail as pygma said but seems like when i had the lucid dream is that it blurs more when i'm lucid dreaming im sure it'll clarify with time.

regardless of me achieving a lucid dream.. I am still open to advice and suggestions..

      Thanks for replying quickly

It will elongate if you attain lucidity earlier...most of my LDs happen at the edge of ending of the dream so I usually have very short time to do anything but I notice if I spin it does help elongate the dream. I remember I extended a lucid dream way beyond it's normal time frame...I know it's way beyond becuase I started to feel strained and it felt like it could go on forever but the dream was still stable just that it din't feel too comfortable to carry on and plus I ran out of things to do.
