Thread: Vivid Dreamer

Hello All,

I have been a vivid dreamer since I was a child. I tend to "go back" to specific places, become lucid and can usually have a very good recollection of most my dreams after awaking. I once kept a dream journal, but found that after writing 3 or 4 pages that I would have trouble going back to sleep.

It wasn't until the other night that I really saw the power of my dreaming state.

Long story short: At certain periods of a lucid dream I attempt to wake myself but it seems that I just cant get out of the dream, by this point it is really no longer a dream and more of a state of limbo, for lack of a better word . Usually accompanied by loud buzzing noises and paranoia to awake for I feel someone/thing is watching me or something.

Well, the other night, I became lucid and went into that panic state. While in that state I rationalized with myself and became comfortable/relaxed within the dream. Knowing this I decided to test what I could do (this being the first time i have ever been in control) so I sat up, moved around, looked at my hands and made them become transparent. After a couple more actions I told myself it was time to wake up, in which I laid down very peacefully and made the transition from sleep to awake.

I should have written all this down but I remember it like it was yesterday. I was so excited afterwards I couldn't sleep....all I could do was dream about my dreaming abilities.

So in the end, I have decided to pursue this awareness. I am here to learn, share and discuss.
