      watching TV

Hey guys, is watching TV (before going to bed not during WBTB) bad for lucid dreaming? I've read different opinions on this, some of them stating it resets your internal clock. I've got no idea what it means so would anyone mind explaining this? Thanks.

I don't know for sure to be honest, but maybe try watching some LD related things like this --> Lucid Dreaming Subliminal Video after you watch tv to sort of set your brain for sleep? Or, you could read some LD related literature. I think it's important that lucid dreaming be the last thing in your head before sleep. HTH

I read somewhere that watching television puts your mind into a suggestive state.. Which makes sense that if you are just watching output and taking it all in, listening to everything being said and shown, that you are temporarily becoming suggestible to whatever is shown to you.. As opposed to focusing on dream mantras, writing in your journal and things that require you to be the one thinking and giving input... But if this theory is correct then it says that if you put yourself into this highly suggestible state just before attempting to lucid dream, that you are much more likely to be fooled into falling to whatever dream scenario that is suggested to you by the mind... but if during this period before sleep, you are creating and forming thoughts, you are more likely to be independent from the dream and form your own thoughts regardless of the suggestions of the dream, making you lucid by default.. once again, this is just a theory I read but it makes sense to me. What do you think?

Yeah I read about that too, however using it to my advantage seems to be a bit too advanced for me at this point. Anyways, it shouldn't be a problem when falling asleep the first time during the night (in the evening) while doing WBTB+WILD later, right?

Yea, falling asleep after watching tv at night, then getting back up later in the night and staying awake for wbtb shouldnt be an issue, as long as during wbtb your not watching tv.. focus on your own creative thoughts and input here.. reading, and replying to the forums isnt a bad idea either during this period.. because your also being creative... but during this period, i wouldnt recommend anything that solely relies on you watching or reading or accepting input only in anyway... its just a theory, but it makes sense.
