I'm the same way, I still don't have a lot of signs to look around for. At this point it's still pretty tough for me to get lucid but it's getting better the more I practice. Look for things in your daily life that seem out of the ordinary, like say objects that are out of place or maybe events that don't necessarily make sense at the time. The key is not just to ask yourself if you're dreaming but to really consider/wonder if you might be, and then to do an RC. Eventually that mind set of wondering if you're dreaming in waking life will carry over more readily to your dreaming consciousness. In waking life I tend to notice a lot of how color and light affect their respective environments, especially if it seems out of the ordinary or particularly vivid; now I always try to RC after I notice such things. This is what got me lucid when I first started trying to do it. I started to take note of how vivid and colorful everything seemed in the dream and then BAM, lucidity, with a look at my hands to confirm.
Are you dreaming?
