      Dreaming about Lucid dreaming.

Over the last week ive had 2 dreams where ive been discussing lucid dreaming with my dad or thinking of lucid dreaming in the dream but not becoming lucid. for example last night i dreamt about actually doing a 'hold the nose test' which i did in the dream, i felt as though i had a tiny amount of control, I tried to walk through the door which worked and fly, however soon it became more dream like and i had no control. Is this a lucid dream which i havent controlled or just a coincidental dream?

It means you are close to having a lucid dream - which is great! I had some of these before my first lucid dream.

One time in a dream I was in a restaurant with my friends. Then as I stood up to leave, one of my mates said "You do know you're dreaming, right?" then he started laughing with the other friend. I started laughing too thinking it was a joke, didn't bother doing a reality check and left the restaurant non-lucid. I was pissed with myself in the morning though when I realised I missed a chance of becoming lucid. However, shortly afterward (as in a few days later) I had my first lucid dream.

So good luck, your almost there!

That would be considered a semi-lucid dream, you had some control but not full. It sounds like lucid dreaming is on your mind just not fully, keep performing reality checks and recording your dreams. Never give up!

I definitely agree with Blue and JP. A few nights ago I had a dream where I was yelling at my girlfriend "LOOK! I can breathe through my nose with it pinched shut! We're Dreaming!" and she kept ignoring me haha. I definitely slapped my head when I woke up from that one, but a true lucid dream did come a few days later. keep at it!

Yeah, it can sometimes happen when you're told that your lucid dreaming and don't realise, or where you just can't tell. On my first lucid dream I was doing reality checks that weren't working, and I actually thought it was stupid because I clearly knew it was reality. Then I checked again, and would you know it, the time on my watch had skipped 6 hours. Just shows how your mind can trick you.
