      Cool Hello World

Hello everyone. I have been getting into LD'ing lately. This is the first time I have ever heard of it. Honestly, my current dream recall is horrible. 1-2 dreams a month....this ought to be interesting. This is my 2nd day going at it and I have a dream journal ready. So far, I have tried WILD which didn't go so well...I can't sleep on my back.

I will say that my RC's have been going nicely, that I at least remembered SOME details of my dreams last night. This is new as I never remember anything. I knew one involved an office and that I had about four others. I do not remember details about them. It's a start.

What do you guys suggest to help me along and what are some good side effects for one who does this often? I do RC's often with my hands, a clock, and pinch myself. I sleep on my side if that tells anything. Anyway guys, I hope I can learn under the vast experience many of you all possess that I hope to eventually gain.

looks like you're doing good just keep steady and you'll get one soon.
I'm sorta natural at LDing because I had a lot when I was younger and it only took me 3 days to get my first LD (when actually trying)
you will have one though if you keep doing RCs and dream journal-ing

Thanks. Something I'm interested in is that when i was younger, I could see glimpses into the future in my dreams even though my recall was terrible (and currently, still is). So, I am hoping to gain lucidity along with a few other things. Of course, prophetic dreams are another conversation entirely.

Hi, welcome. I don't know for sure, but from what I've heard, it isn't at all necessary to sleep on your back while WILDing. You can sleep on your side. I watched a video tutorial on youtube of an expert LDer who claimed he can't sleep on his back, and always sleeps on his side, but WILDs without a problem.

Yes, remembering fragments is a good start. If you keep it up, and write down details of even the fragments, you'll likely build up your dream recall quickly.

Pinching yourself might not be the best method, as your mind might simulate the pain in a dream. I've heard that the claim that pinching yourself won't hurt in a dream is often false. Keep up the RCs and maybe incorperate a general awareness of your surroundings, or a history check (asking yourself how you got to this place, remembering your normal mundane life and making sure you're still in it.) You can switch methods every so often until you find one that you feel works well for you.
