Greetings! Sought out this site after I accidentally had DILD last week.

      Hi All!
I had my first lucid dream last week during a napping session after a week of night shift that was completely disruptive to my sleep cycle. The dream I had let itself be known after a wrong turn and ending up on a different road. I was only lucid ~30 seconds to 1 minute and at the time did not know any stabilization techniques. I was previously familiar with the concept of lucid dreaming for YEARS, though I had no great interest in obtaining it. ~12 years ago I was set on attempting OBE after my dad bought the book Experiences in the Outer Body, but I've put that down a long time ago.

The dream alerted me that I was in a dream and knew enough to ask myself am I dreaming? Maybe I then asked my DC a question and the answer wasn't as it would be in reality. I then noticed the temperature which wasn't cold like Chicago winter. I decided to walk around feel the ground and then like most first time LDers I decided to fly!! It was great but less than 2 seconds later I woke up to a black space and after a couple of more seconds eventually came to.

I am now OBSESSED with attaining more LD's. I have started to keep a dream journal initially I went 2 days with nothing, and then some night's I'll remember 5 dreams, some nights only 1. When I review them there are always so many opportunities to become lucid but I just dont notice them. Now I'm trying to add reality checks to my daily routine.

Anyway just wanted to say hey! Introduce myself. All that jazz.

      Welcome!
      Cool xD
You gotta be keen for the first month or so, it really helps.

I advised my friends also to LD, always good to surround yourself with LD'ers xD, I'm still the one who's the most uber keen about it though.
Was a good call with the ground touching, that helps to stabilise. I'm gonna try and fly later, my first task is to talk to some dream character and get to grips with the dreasmscape. Feel free to add me as your a bit new to it like myself.

Welcome to the forums, the first lucid dream is always the best. But trust me, the next ones are just as great. It's good to hear that you have started a dream journal, it helps tremendously with lucid dreaming. If you need help with anything else feel free to ask or send me a private message, there are hundreds of great people and guides here that can help you. Good luck!

I've pretty much told everyone who I thought would be open to it about the experience. I've gotten mixed responses. No one really wanting to study it with me though

JP I'm still trying really hard to get the next one. Working daily on my reality checks.

Don't focus so much on reality checks, focus more on reality itself. What I mean is, take time out of the day to just examine things and appreciate their uniqueness. Study and object and then close your eyes, imagine grabbing the object, throwing it, smashing it, biting on, smelling it. Try to use every sense to grasp at the object. I guarantee that if you do this your dreams will be come more vivid and you will lucid more often.
