      Greetings

I've known about lucid dreaming for around a year now, and have had varied degrees of interest in it. For awhile I was doing RC often and trying every night, then another period where i completely forgot about Lucid Dreaming. I've hit another spike of interest and I am back for more. Hoping by using Dream Views I can get some more success.

I have had 1 lucid dream so far, way back when i was interested in the past. I had a false awakening and got up to go get ready for the day. As I moved past my light switch I decided I might as well do a RC for the next night. And when the lights didn't change I finally realized I was dreaming. The feeling was very cool once I started paying attention. For some reason I wasn't extremely excited, rather just slightly interested. I decided to spin since I had read that it helped you stay asleep. After doing this I mostly lost my lucidity. My memory of what happened after has gone hazy and seems like just a normal dream.

So! A few questions I have from my single experience.
      1. The weirdest part of the dream when I was Lucid was a lack of noise. When you are awake there is usually some kind of sound. Even if it is quite you can hear some machine or electronic making a hum or squeal. Is this lack of noise normal for dreams or is it just a one time thing?

      2. Is it normal to lose lucidity during the dream and have it be a normal dream again? Is there ways to prevent this from happening, to anyone's knowledge?

      3. What do you personally do when you realize you are dreaming? (Just out of curiosity )

That's all for now! Thanks in advance for all replies!

      1. Not always. I've had dreams like this but usually there's some kind of sound, but only if there's something there to create it.

      2. Yeah, this happens but not that often, at least for me. You can use some kind of physical sensation to ground you in the dream. Try to stay focused and self aware and it probably won't happen.

      3. Lately I've been stuck in another bout of loneliness/horniness so I look for a girl to have sex with. Sometimes I'll fly. A lot of times I like to fuck with DCs, tell them they aren't really or do weird shit to them like turn them weird colors. I wanna start doing more advanced and abstract things and do experiment some with music.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

A physical sensation like touching an object or what kind of physical sensation would work best for holding onto that lucidity?

Very nice. haha Sounds fun. I read somewhere that Tesla got many of his ideas from a dreams where he could create prototypes and test the idea. After I get past the initial phase of "Oh my god this is sweet!" I would like to try something along those lines to improve my knowledge in some way or explore the unknown of the human mind through dreams.

      Also, a new question
      4. I've been trying WILD when I go to bed, and I believe I have hit SP several times. One time it felt like a floated off my bed and was then being rocked by waves of an ocean. Overall it was a cool feeling. But, how does someone transition to a dream from this SP?

Touching something works. You can focus on walking, this is what's always worked best for me. I've heard that smoking and chewing gum work, I've been trying to do this but haven't much success.

It takes a while to get past how amazing it is just to simply be there in a world that's created completely by your own mind. I would really like to try to do some things that can apply to real life like dealing with fears and whatnot amd even try to work on bigger questions, more philosophical things. There was a pretty good thread about it here. http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/exciting-revelation-place-purest-thought-110737/

Can't really help you with WILDing, I've only ever done that on accident.

Thanks for that link! it's pretty much is what I've been wanting to do with my LDs. Just need to be more consistent first.

Also, what induction method do you use stonedape?

I use WBTB mostly. I was MILDing for a while but I've been kinda scatterbrained lately and never think to do it. But I mostly just do lots of RCs and do a WBTB. Another thing I did for a while was telling myself that it's easy to have LDs as long as I WBTB because the kind of sleep I get then is different and my mind is more awake. It was kinda sorta like auto-suggestion/positive thinking, but at the same time it's true. Now I don't really need to think about it.

I also do meditation and practice being very aware of myself, my surroundings and the sensations of things throughout the day.

Oh, and there's LDEILDs. You have to already have an LD to do it but this is amazing. When you notice yourself waking up from an LD you think to yourself, I am going to lie very still and fall back to sleep and go right into another LD. It works wonders, I've chained LDs together for 45+ minutes before. It's similar to a DEILD, just from a lucid. I've been meaning to try regular DEILDs but I've been procrastiniating like hell and making myself very busy and scatterbrained.

Woah. I kinda did that DEILD just last night without the lucid part. Woke up 3 or 4 times but continued a dream of how I poisoned the pope and was paranoid about being caught. Lol pretty sure I might have dreamed this because I recently read Da Vinci Code.

Which now makes me wonder if our unconscience mind picks our dreams at random sometimes or if there was something my mind was trying to say something and I just don't get it.

I don't think they're random. Almost everything you dream is due to something that's happened to you recently or something that's on your mind. But some stuff is probably random.

I know the overall dream is affected by recent things but are the small details that we hardly notice generated randomly or with purpose? My goal tonight is to pay attention to those details. Well my goal apart from LDing. Ha
