I've known about lucid dreaming for around a year now, and have had varied degrees of interest in it. For awhile I was doing RC often and trying every night, then another period where i completely forgot about Lucid Dreaming. I've hit another spike of interest and I am back for more. Hoping by using Dream Views I can get some more success.

I have had 1 lucid dream so far, way back when i was interested in the past. I had a false awakening and got up to go get ready for the day. As I moved past my light switch I decided I might as well do a RC for the next night. And when the lights didn't change I finally realized I was dreaming. The feeling was very cool once I started paying attention. For some reason I wasn't extremely excited, rather just slightly interested. I decided to spin since I had read that it helped you stay asleep. After doing this I mostly lost my lucidity. My memory of what happened after has gone hazy and seems like just a normal dream.

So! A few questions I have from my single experience.
1. The weirdest part of the dream when I was Lucid was a lack of noise. When you are awake there is usually some kind of sound. Even if it is quite you can hear some machine or electronic making a hum or squeal. Is this lack of noise normal for dreams or is it just a one time thing?

2. Is it normal to lose lucidity during the dream and have it be a normal dream again? Is there ways to prevent this from happening, to anyone's knowledge?

3. What do you personally do when you realize you are dreaming? (Just out of curiosity )

That's all for now! Thanks in advance for all replies!
