Help with sleep paralysis

Hey, so i have been trying to WILD right after I go to sleep (without WBTB). The only problem I am having is getting through sleep paralysis.

After about 20 minutes or so of laying in bed, I am at the level of relaxation where I can't even realize I even have a body pretty much. Then I will start to feel tingling all over my body starting from my feet usually. During this time, I usually get the sensation of floating or weightlessness and other weird feelings as well. I have done pretty good trying to keep my heart rate down during this but after the feelings pass, I find myself laying in bed just as I was before I started to get the tingling.

Was sleep paralysis trying to set in but I stopped it somehow?

Side notes: I have been in sleep paralysis once before, but I got way too excited and woke myself up. I know that when that happened I had severe ringing in my ears (auditory hallucinations), but the last few times I have been trying and getting the tingly feelings I do not hear any of the ringing.

SP will vary from occurrence to occurrence. The hallucinations won't always be the same every time in and it. Don't even worry about your heart rate, because SP will deceive you. If you are in SP, your heart rate is slow, but a common hallucination is the increased heart rate. Just stay as calm as possible and try to ignore your heartbeat/rate all together. Once you get that weightlessness feeling, just submit to it. Basically, let your body float all around the room if it wants to. Just act as if nothing out of the ordinary is happening. If you get any visual HI, try and observe it as if you are half interested. Don't focus on specific details, just casually observe any visuals or auditory hallucinations you may get. The key is to just allow the process to carry you into the dream state. Many dreamers get into SP and simply don't allow themselves to fall asleep. You have to submit to the sleep that is setting in. The only difference is that you want to keep your mind half occupied so you don't lose consciousness. Hope I helped out a bit. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask! First, it is really hard and just about impossible to WILD (if this is what you are trying to do) without a WBTB. Once you do a WBTB, just do what you are doing already the difference is it will be way easier to get into SP.

It looks like your doing everything right, just try not to think about SP when you do it. Just lay back and relax.

Exactly this^... forgot to ask when you were trying to WILD :P. If you don't want to perform a WBTB (wake back to bed), WILDing during day time naps is also a great strategy. Usually 1-8 hours after waking in the morning. Its possible to WILD later, but it gets increasingly difficult as you approach your normal sleep time. Good luck to you!

Thanks guys, I have one more question for ya. When im going into sleep paralysis, does it matter if my eyes are open or not?

You want you eyes to be closed and as you start to go more into SP you will start to see HI (Hypnotic Images.) which are basically hallucination

You go into sleep paralysis every time you go to sleep. Do you have your eyes open every time you go to sleep? The answer is keep them closed.
