OK, Another "I'm New Here"! But want guidance too

Hi Gang! And thanks in advance for this great forum! I found this on Yahoo search (yes, submitted to poll) I spent my first 90 mins scouring the site this am (0300) while doing my Wake Back 2Bed Method Here's a quick bio: I am ancient (37) compared to many of you young'uns I am American, deep south confederate gal I fly helicopters for the Offshore Oil/Gas Industry in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) (yes, this is impt b/c it helps my Awareness and Reality Checks!) Although I am Not new to OOBE/AP/LD, I am Very new to the fact that these all can be controlled! I just never knew this... I am a Silva Mind Control (now Silva Method) junkie (since 91) and a recent TMI (The Monroe Institute) member also. My husband and I completed GATEWAY in March. We have also joined TLI (Lucidity Institute) and are attending the 10 day Lucid program in Hawaii this summer I am looking forward to learning more about CONTROL here and achieving lucidity in my dreams. My goals: To learn more and more and more about who and what I really am. I am a firm believer in WE control our own destiny if we so choose to do so. I depend Daily on my intuitions...my job is very high risk and my dreams and feelings have saved my life numerous times! I never question any feeling that otherwise seems senseless and out of the ordinary. OK, enough for now. I wish to be adopted and follow the program here. I know now I have to be here for at least 2 weeks though, fair enough! I will have dry spells in attendence due to the fact that living in the middle of a big pond doesn't always afford me the opp'y to gain access to Internet:-( I will have to settle for it in dreamland LATEST ACHIEVEMENTS: I achieved my "first" step towards a controlled LD the night before last! Here it is in a nutshell: I had been pondering the HOW's of How the hell am I going to ask myself IN my dream if I am dreaming. I have been doing a tons of reality checks daily...as I just incorporate that into normal daily flying operations (not too good to daydream while flying these eggbeaters!) SO, I dreamed that I took off from a ship and was airborne, about 400'. Then I realized "hey, something is not right..." I remembered (while in dream) that I had started my helicopter and suddenly I was flying.....hmmmmm what is wrong here? Then I realized, Oh $#IT!...I did NOT do any proper start-up procedures! I had literally jumped in the machine like it was a car and driven (flown) off. It dawned on me that I had NOT turned on the generator, nor done anything else that you HAVE to do in order to launch safely and successfully. THEN I said...."Hey, wait a minute (as lightbulb goes off in head) and I ASKED the question "Is This a Dream?" And sure enough, it was as though "IT" was caught...I felt the feeling as though I had ruined the game, prematurely told the punchline, etc. "Hey, she knows now, so we can't keep screwing wiht her anymore, at least not in this dream!" I felt bodily sensations and the dreamscape dissolved. I tried to contain my excitement, but did not do anything to keep the dream going (rub hands, do math problems, spin, etc). But that is OK, I just wanted to confirm what I was experiencing! OK, that is all. Looking forward to some action here! Hey Pilot! Well, welcome to the site. It sounds like you already have a bit of a headstart in all this in some way - if not in the institute memberships at least in flying... REAL flying!! Don't say you're ancient, there are quite a few of us-- er... other "thirty-somethings" out here.... ahem... I'm sure..... somewhere I first came to this site early this year and have been able to achieve only a handfull of LD experiences. I probably stand a better chance of learning how to control your copter over the gulf than conroling my own dreams - but I think this site increases my chances considerably. You'll find a lot of people here who share the same goals as you and hopefully you'll be able to share some of the knowledge you gain elswere as well. I've never heard of Silva Method, TMI, and Gateway - would like to hear a little about those. Well, good luck to you - both in your dreams and in the skies, and I look forward to hearing more from you.

I'm sure..... somewhere Uh.. yes there are a handful of us over thirtys! *cough cough* Did you actually attend a Gateway seminar or do you mean that you have the Gateway tapes (I have the Gateway tapes and would be curious to know what you thought of them). I too am a member of LI but have never attended one of their programs (I am SOOO jealous of you right now)! Welcome to Dream Views and I look forward to reading more from you!!

Hi Tornado Joe and Clarity! thanks for the welcome, and glad I am not the only Grandma in the group To answer your questions about TMI, Gateway, etc: Yes, I completed the week long course for Gateway in March (am now a GG, gateway grad!) and am eligible to enter any of TMI's advanced courses. For more details of MY Gateway, I have a couple of long posts in the Astral Pulse.com forum in the first section (Welcome to OBE discussion). (My mentors are Major Tom and Frank) The Silva method is a basic mind application where you use techniques to 'program' anything you want in life; from what to do tomorrow to healing (remote healing) via use of very active visual methods. It is just a belief system, basically. The more 'superstitions' you add in your life, the tighter the "box" around you. The developer was Jose Silva, and essentially he had spirit guides who in his early years (WW2) guided him to develope methods to teach others how to make the most of their lives; ie take control of their lives and put outside brainwashings (parents, schools, religions) aside. I say this tactfully because religion is very impt to people: Jose was a strong christian until he died few yrs ago; he felt his spirit guides were directed via his belief in christianity etc. I worked for yrs with this to strengthen my intuitions and "program" other people (just accessing their higher selves to make situations benefit Both of us...) etc. I was privileged to take my first 4 day Silva course with a Shaman! He incorporated similar practices which parallel Silva....and for that matter, TMI and TLI The Monroe Institute, (see website) is phenomenal! I was also privileged to have met Bob Monroe (journeys out of body, Far Journeys, Ultimate Journey) yrs ago thru a surveyor whom I worked with (I am also a field dowser). Only recently however, was I ready to take Gateway (long story there, but just trusted for the right time for me to begin my journey) TMI is just a ground base, or platform which provides TOOLS for anyone interested in self-discovery to remote viewing (which the US GOV uses his facilities) to healing and helping people transition to after life, and getting in touch with loved ones 'on the other side' I know it sounds farfetched, but this is merely a belief and faith system. We Are unlimited IF we believe it! TMI does NOT have a course outline...YOU have to make your Own discoveries for yourself; TMI just provides an invaluable set of training and tools in which to launch you; kind of like giving you the spaceship, and YOU have to program it to Where and What you want to do!... I found The Lucidity Institute thru a link from TMI, and am equally excited at the potentials. I feel these are all just a set of platforms and tools to help those who want to journey into themselves and the greater self. I also feel forums such as this and Astral are PARAMOUNT!!! To be able to discuss openly and SHARE information and experiences too, is invaluable! I am glad to be here and want to Learn all I can from Everyone! I know one thing I learned from MY gateway was "Effortless Intention" Once I realized this, and keep reminding myself of setting intent, having faith and letting it go and Expecting it to happen, It just Does! When I find myself fighting for it...El Zippo! All comes to a screeching halt The support group from Newbies and Oldies alike is important. We tend to hit dry spells and get Verrrry easily discouraged...and quit. When I see I am NOT alone in this boat, my confidence is boosted and off i go again!
