Thread: NEW! and something really wierd?

Hey everybody this is my first post, I am kind of new to the concept of Lucid Dreaming but I've had experience with this before (when I was younger). I have had only two Lucid Dreams prior to knowing this site but the wierd thing is, whenever I had a lucid dream, I never tried any special techniques or anything but while I was dreaming I suddenly said (exact words), "Hey, I am dreaming, I can do what I want" and then I just started controlling things. My question is, Why? I had a lucid dream last night and it was exactly the same. Am I a natural? lol.

I've understood that many people have had LD experiences when they were younger. So, if you was constantly having lucid dreams, maybe you was a natural. Anyway, now that you found this site, you've most propably been thinking a lot of lucid dreaming just because of the plain excitement, and that induces lucid dreams pretty well. Many people get their first lucids after they've heard about them. It's hard to say though as you provide quite little information about you and your lucid experiences.

Well, the dream I had last night went something like this -

I was at school in class and I was mucking around, the scene changed totally and I was just standing in this room. Then, out of the blue I just said' "hey I am dreaming, etc." (this also happened last time i.e. I was just standing there and then I just said it). Then I got excited and the dream faded but I tried to spin around and it didn' t work but I appeared back where I was, still aware that I was dreaming so I went outside the room and it was like a desert (kind of like Nevada) and I saw a coke machine. I focused on it and closed my eyes and it turned into a car, a blue Lexus IS200 (it looked exactly like it does in real life). I went over to the car but then I thought, how the hell can I get in without the keys, then the door opened. I hopped in and the car started, so I started driving and the scene changed to a parking lot and I dragged this guy (I just put my foot down).

This dream was fully Lucid (I controlled everything, except scene changes)

Just to clarify: Lucid dreams means that you're aware of the fact that you're dreaming. It doesn't necessarily include dream control but mostly you have some control in lucid dreams. On the other hand you can have controlled dreams where you don't actually realize that you're only dreaming.

So, if a dream is fully lucid, it means that you're fully aware of the fact that you're dreaming. Nothing to do with control, really.

Yes, I realised it was a dream and that's when I began to control my actions, all the while being aware that I was in a dream.

Welcome to the forum. We hope that you enjoy your stay. Well, when I 1st became a LDer, I really didn't have Dream Control, either. It took me about a year to accomplish this, & then again, I was 3 when I started!
