      Hello everyone

Hello all, I guess I should introduce myself at this point. I've had lucid dreams since I was around 6 or so years old, however as far as I remember I stopped having them around the age of 8 or 10 maybe. I've just recently become interested in lucid dreaming again, and I am hoping it won't be too difficult because of my past experiences. I do however work full time currently and wake up around 5 am to a very loud alarm, and I've gotten into a habit of waking up fast to turn it off. Getting a softer alarm isn't really an option as I am a deep sleeper. I guess I'll have to keep my LD activities to the weekends. I do remember some of my LDs I had when I was young, and maybe will write some (if I can remember enough details) in my DJ.

Welcome to the forum, lukasoft! There's a nice DJ section here on the site if you prefer typing rather than writing.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I've been reading a lot on the website, so I don't really have any questions right now. I do however find it interesting that there are 'techniques' for doing unnatural things in dreams, like the whole teleporting techniques, and summoning. I've used some of these before (nothing too advanced, more like continually jumping higher until I can fly), but never thought that they would be something universal that some/many people can use to bend the laws of nature in dreams.

Essentially, techniques for doing 'unnatural' things in dreams are just guidelines to get you in the mindset of believing that you can do them. To do something in a dream, there is one requirement that you must meet: no doubt in your mind that you will succeed. Techniques help a lot of people starting out because they provide an anchor to things that are easier to comprehend and believe.

Raphael already said this, but to reinforce it, feel free to ask any questions if you have any, because there are loads of people in the community that will be happy to answer.

Check out the tutorials in the wiki at the top of the page. Specifically DILD, reality checks, and WBTB. Thats the best spot to start. If you have questions, ask the member with green names, or post a thread

It shouldn't be too difficult because you've had at least a little experience. Waking up to an early alarm doesn't hinder you completely, as long as you get the proper amount of sleep. Just try not to go to bed too late, plus you don't have to WILD or anything to lucid dream, so you wouldn't need to be losing sleep in the night.
Anyways welcome to the forum, feel free to PM me or ask on here if you have any questions. good luck with your dreaming adventure.

Well, I made my first attempt last night (Friday night; didn't set an alarm, had a blue moon before bed). I was dreaming and as the dream started to phase out I made notice (I think light was beginning to shine into my room and wake me up). I started to rub my forearms together as a reaction but it was too late. I couldn't rub my hands together because there were guns in them and I didn't want to loose them . This isn't so tough! haha. Anyways I have a question now. Has anyone ever woken up and not moved and gone back to sleep to continue the same dream? I remember trying this as a little kid to no avail, so I'm wondering if it's possible

This is indeed possible, and it's what we call a Dream-Exit Induced Lucid Dream (DEILD). If you wake up and don't move, you'll stay in Sleep Paralysis, and you can think about the dream you were just in to try and get back to it.
