I am not much into labelling my inner experiences, so I think I will call this a lucid dream just so as I can post it here. If it should be moved so be it.
When I was hmmm around 19yrs old, I got into some home made wine (not very good wine either). I got pretty tanked as I didn't know how much alcohol one needed to consume in order to get a buzz. That was a Friday night. Saturday, I was still feeling the effects. Saturday afternoon around threeish I decided to go lay down for a nap, and awoke laying face down on my bed, no big deal right, NOT. As I went to move my arm, (it was hanging over the side of my bed along with my head) I found that it would not move. I knew I was totally awake, but I couldn't move anything. Now I started to freak out. Here I am wide awake and I can't move. My first thought was that I was paralized some how. Actually that was my only thought. I was really scared, as I didn't know anything about anything that happens after you go to sleep, other than you wake up in the morning. I lay there for what seemed like a long time trying to figure out what I was going to do. I tried at one point to slap the floor with my hand, to bring attention to my mother and sister whom I thought was in the living room opposite the bedroom would so they would realize my problem and come in to save me. This didn't happen as I couldn't move my hand. Now I was really panicking, what was I going to do. It was at this itme that to add to my problem, something started digging me in my back. It was as if someone was purposefully digging their nuckle into my back. Now I was really freaking as it was quite painful. This caused me to really start squirming until I finally woke up. Once awake, I couldn't believe what had just happened or what just happened. Needless to say I didn't go back to sleep that afternoon.
Second Whatever.
Again I had a little too much wine. This time though I was much older by 25 years , but still not any the wiser as to what these things were all about.
Anyway, the wife and I came home from shopping on a Saturday, had supper around 4to 5. After supper we cracked a bottle of wine, finished it and by 8:00 I had to go lay down for a nap for about an hour. Got up went back into the living room and watched tv until we went to bed at around 12. I have to say here that one thing that seems to be common for these events to happen is that I don't really wake up even though Iam watching tv I am still groggy.
Woke up around three in the morning, wide awake, i was looking out the bedroom window, saw my wife sleeping beside me, nothing unusual until I decide to turn aroung ( left to right). Again like the first time I tried to bring my right hand up only to find that it wouldn't move. Tried moving it again, no deal. I thought to my self, here we go again. Since the first time this happen until this time, I have had quite a few of these experiences, this current one was just differerent than the rest. In my other experiences I had trained my self to make noises by moaning and groaning so my wife would wake me up. That was her signal that I was in trouble. After one of these sessions, I instructed her not to wake me even if I moaned and groaned, that I would just have to deal with it. So now I am fully awake and can't move anything, I am thinking what do i do now. The next thing I realize is this noise, it is like a chainsaw going at top speed or some static electricity just crackling in my ear. Well this got my attention real fast. So here I am, I can't move, can't wake up, and have his uncontrollable noise going in my ear, what to do. I started repeating the word to relax over and over again ( this is what I do when I get a migrane, it is the only thing that helps). After a few moments the sound went down ( just like a bar graph) now I had gained some control, now what. Again I tried to move. As I was laying on my left side, I tried to turn over to my right side. When I did this I moved. I had no sensation of body movement, but I started turning from left to right, I also had no feeling of a body as you would when you turn. This really freaked me out, and that started the noise off again. It was at this point that I thought of me telling my wife that if I moaned and groaned not to wake me and I thought to myself, I hope she forgot those instructions, and immediatley started moaning and groaning. The next thing that happened was very interesting, I watched her wake up and move her right hand to my shoulder and wake me up. When this happened, I experienced what to me was one mind waking and one going to sleep, it was most bizzare.
