Hi, my name is francisco, im new.

Hi everyone, i just signed up here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Francisco and im 31 years old and I'm a lucid dreamer. I've been having lucid dreams for many years now and always wanted to talk about them but when i would talk about them to other people i know friends/coworkers, im looked upon as some weirdo. i ask others if they have had them and they say no. i never thought to look up the subject of lucid dreaming on the web to find others like me. and im glad i found this group to whom i can talk to about this and not be looked upon as some crazy weirdo =)

I'm still unable to induce them, they just come. and i dont have them on a daily basis. They occure at least once a month. I guess it all started years ago with sleep paralysis. I hated when i would have a sleep paralysis episode. at the time i didnt know what was happening to me. it felt like i was dead. i couldnt even move a muscle, i would try so hard to fight it and i would gradually regain control and be able to move. then the lucid dreams began, at first i would get freaked out and then become overly excited and wake up. as the years passed ive been able to control my emotions in a lucid dream to gain control of it. now im able to fly in the dream. it's the only thing and first thing i do in a lucid dream. i love it. so let me cut this short by saying im glad i found you group of people. perhaps i can learn and grow even more.

      Happy Dreams,
      Francisco

He's an "older person"? ACK! Hand me my walker.

I know what you mean though, the median age here is rather low.

      Welcome, Francisco!

Hey there!!! Welcome to the forum!

It's great that you have this natural ability. You sound alot like me, I started having lucids and tried to talk to people about it but no one really understood. Then about 4 years later I found this wonderful place and have been happily LDing away ever since Well, not to mention the occassional dry spell +coughlikenowcough+

There are many ways to induce lucidity...go over to the tutorials sections and read up about it!!! MILD, WILD, HILD, DILD...so many acronyms! But should make for some good reading, and some even better results!!!!

Flying is ALOT of fun in lucids, it's one of my favorite things to do. But I've also come to realize that there is alot more I can learn through lucid dreaming about myself and the world around me so right now I am involved in a shared dreaming experiment, as well as on a sort of spiritual quest as well.

Anyways...glad you joined the forum. If you have any questions feel free to PM me or any other Dream Guide here, we are always happy to help.

      sweet lucid dreams,
      -nina

Welcome to the boards Francisco!!! It's great that you have an interest in LDing and, the first thing you must have as a given is that, indeed, we will always be looked upon as the weirdoes of the world. Almost no one values dreams as much as they should, and they just see them something that happens between their busy schedule....something they would cut out of their day if they could. It is unfortunate, but all we can do is continue to spread the word and hope they one day see as we do...

You are so right nina! Flying has always been my favorite lucid activity (and greatest childhood desire), but, when I was in my Lding prime, I always did want and try to do that. I did learn plenty about myself and was able to explore some of my spiritual interests, but I was never able to take it to the next level: To something of much greater importance than virtual cognitive entertainment. I hope that once I actually get enough time to actively practice LDing again I will be able to retake all this and keep on attempting to fulfill this purpose.
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...

thank you all for the warm welcome

I just wanted to thank you all for the warm welcome you've given me. I always felt there something more to dreams then it just being a reg/normal dream. I guess we're more open minded to the things around us and more aware of our existence beyound the physical.
I just hope to to be able to one day induce my LD's, and gain more control of them.

      thanks again
      Francisco
