      Painful LD's

Hello! I was wondering if anyone has had painful LD's before. Lately, when entering into one, it's like I begin to hear all of this chaotic static that is deafening and then it will transfer into the LD and movement through space feels like my entire body is unraveling or being electrocuted. The weird thing, is that I'll tell myself to calm down and relax, trying to use basic LD techniques to gain control of my thoughts and surroundings, and it will still keep happening. My latest LD was a little terrifying to say the least. It involved the sensation of being pulled by my feet upwards at an incredible rate of speed and then being whipped around in circles. Part of me thinks maybe I'm just physically exhausted and these weird physical pains during the LD are coming from some sort of pre-astral projection, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Welcome on board! Hotlanta! Yeah, howdy neighbor!

The loud noises and shocks you are feeling are a normal part of the WILD process, you might want to take a look at the Five Phases of WILD tutorial.

They can get pretty annoying and a little painful, but are pretty neat. It is your enter sleep paralysis that is doing this to you.

I think maybe your dreams after that point might be a fear reaction caused by your body entering sleep paralysys. Look around and ask any questions you like, I'm sure we can help you out!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Good point Seeker, you will definitely experience alot of weird things when entering a lucid dream while you are conscious and can actually feel the sleep paralysis (very strong vibrations, louding humming/buzzing sound in your ears, intense hypnogogic imagery and sounds) and maybe it frightens you and you think something is going wrong so that once you enter your lucid dream the chaoticness of it all carries over through your own fears like Seeker said.

Once you get used to the sensations that accompany a WILD I'm sure that LDing will be a much more pleasurable experience.
