      Senses and emotions?

I've been trying and working at it with mild success, but I've never actually attained a fully lucid dream. What I want to know is: Does it eel like real life? Do emotions feel the same? And is your sense of touch (or your other senses for that matter) the same as it is in your waking life? Thanks .

      Welcome to the Forum

Dreams can feel just as authentic as 'real' life, nothing might appear to be out of the ordinary (your sight, sense of smell, hearing etc) so its difficult to ‘know’ you are dreaming. There can be moments when you question that reality and ask yourself 'is this a dream'? upon asking yourself this question you might like to test out the waters and perform a reality check to find out if you are dreaming (look at the clock, try to put your finger through your hand etc) once you've done this check, test out your own senses, see if you can answer the question yourself without anybody telling you "All of your senses are heightened". It would be silly of me just to answer YES. You will only feel the ‘effect’ of lucidity when you’ve experience it yourself.

Hope you enjoy your time on DV

      hi, welcome to the board!

I've had a couple of lucid dreams, and i've found that my sense of awareness is heightened, and that my senses of touch and smell seem to be clearer, i'm not sure why that is.
      Also, colours seem brighter.
Emotions are about the same intensity, being as i'm quite intense emotionally in waking life, if they got more so in a lucid, it might cause an overload!

Welcome to Dream Views first of all Seb!

When I have semi lucid dreams, they don't feel particularly like real life. They're kinda fuzzy or blurry, not much color or any other sense really. But when I do happen to be blessed with a fully lucid dream, every little bit is just like real life, only better because I can also alter stuff. Some people even believe that these more full LDs are more real than real life. In fact, one dream was so clear and vivid in color, it's as if I had had corrective eye surgery.

To answer your question, yes it can, but if you are good at RCing, it really shouldn't effect you much at all!
