Leaving my room?

Ok so I tend to have lucid dreams if I take a nap in the middle of the day. Just today I had a very lucid dream, I was floating around in my room.. trying to keep myself from getting to excited and I decided I wanted to go outside. As i flew through my windows my dream ended.. The window was closed and I tried going through it, can I not pass through objects in a lucid dream? Also what are some techniques to keep myself from waking up?

Hi lawlgen, welcome to Dreamviews. I have heard of several people having the exact same problem as you. Don't worry, you can fix it! can I not pass through objects in a lucid dream? In a lucid dream, ANYTHING is possible. That means passing through objects/walls is possible. So yes, you can pass through objects. You just need to have confidence you can do it. Just imagine the window not being solid and imagine yourself just flying through it with no problem. If that doesn't work you could literally try breaking the windows and then flying out of it. You could also try teleporting outside, without having to pass through any solid objects. You can look at my guide to changing your dream scene (link in my signature) for more info. In order to make the lucid last longer, and not waking up you need to stabilize the dream first. Dreamviews has an official stabilization tutorial you can read here. The main thing is just using all your senses. Stop for a moment and look around you. Notice all the details of your dream, how objects feel, how they smell, etc. Rub your hands together and spin around. That should stabilize the dream. Just remember to be confident you can do it, and don't have any doubt! Hopefully this helped you...good luck!

Thanks man, ill definitely try to stablilze the dream next time. Iv never even tried that, I would always start floating around immediately and tried to explore.

Haha yeah, a lot of new people tend to do that. They just want to start having fun right away! It is worth it to stabilize the dream right away though, it makes the dream last so much longer and increases clarity!

following up from what Mancon said, here's a clarity/stabliization, there are also other one's on the site Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views ^^ the more you progress with LDing, the more stable they will be, naturally.
