      help!

I'm still very new with this so its kind of scaring me. I do suffer from insomnia but when I actually do sleep I end up having dreams that scare me, and they cause me to wake up. I've had monsters chase me, I'm running away from in a hallway and the hallway just have no end, when I want to scream I have no voice, I also dreamt that I was stabbed and it felt so real when I woke up I was ice cold. And the most scary of all I had was yesterday when I dreamt that I was shot in the stomach on the right side whilst doing shopping and a friend of mine had exactly the same dream to the smallest details, we don't even live in the same province. What can all these sudden scary dreams mean? And how is it possible for 2people to have exactly the same dream at the same time?

Now, i'm just making stabs into the dark. Anyone please feel free to correct me.
Sudden scary dreams don't necessarily relate to your life. We all have the occasional nightmare, I think, it's just whether we remember them in the morning or not. Sometimes, it can be caused by traumatic events or stress from your daily life.
If you're looking to combat your nightmares, lucid dreaming is a great way to do it. Many users here have turned a nightmare into a normal dream through the use of lucid dreaming. Asking the source of your nightmare why it appears in your dream can be a great pointer.
As for your second question, if you believe in it, this is called 'shared dreaming'. How it is or would be possible is something that has not been proven scientifically, so I can't really answer that question..
      Good luck~

Firstly, don't worry. There have been some cases in the past in which dreamers have recalled the exact same dream. This is bizarre, but it's nothing to be afraid of. Don't run from your nightmare, confront it. The pain you feel in the dreams does not come from actual damage to your body. Pain is, quite simply, your brain saying, "Oh, I appear to be hurt. I had better register this pain to the body, so that it knows that it's hurt." Unfortunately, the brain responds the same way in dreams. This also means that, if you are expecting your dream to be painless, there will be no pain. All the dream is, really, is fear. If you can prevail over that fear, you have overcome your aggressor, and your nightmare. Do whatever you must to overcome the fear, and I can guarantee that the nightmare will go away.

You say that your friend had the same dream. There is, as fOrceez said, something called shared dreaming. If you believe in that stuff, it might be worth looking into.

Do your best to remember your dream tonight, and call your friend tomorrow. If the same thing occurs, feel free to post back here. Others will probably have better answers than I do. Good luck!
