      New here

So I'm new to this whole lucid dreaming stuff. I wanted to get into it a while back and tried and had 1 lucid but I kinda stopped trying for a while, got really busy. I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks I should try. I know about keeping the dream journal and the reality checks. I need to get into the habit of performing the checks though I always seem to forget. Also does anyone know if there is a limit to what you can do while dreaming? and does anyone actually have enough control of their dreams to, lets say reenact a movie or something requiring a lot of detail? Thats a question directed at anyone on the forums btw not just a rhetorical lol

As far as I know, there are no limits to what you can do in a lucid dream. I'm pretty sure you can do just about anything you can think of, but it takes a lot of practice and patience. I bet you could reconstruct a movie if that's what you fancy. I don't know whether you'd be able to get all the details down. But from my own experience with dreaming in general and with lucid dreams (I've only had a few and they were all years ago), it's amazing how many details are created instantly without even trying. The imagination is an awesome thing to behold. I'm new here too and also like you I haven't been able to remember to do reality checks once I'm in a dream. But I know it's only a matter of time. I'm not letting myself become discouraged and you shouldn't either. The first step is to just become better at remembering your dreams. What I do is record my voice into my cell phone as soon as I wake up. Once you have a bunch of entries in your journal, study it and look for signs that should tell you that you're dreaming if you see them again in the future. In case you haven't heard this already, B6 and Choline bitartrate are both vitamins you can take to help improve recall. Also, I would like to recommend a series of talks about lucid dreaming on youtube. The name of the channel on youtube is stephenberlin.

      Hi there my friend,
Welcome to DV . Nice to know you already have a dream journal and you're already practicing reality checks. It's a jump-start you'll need in lucid dreaming. Anyways, everything is possible inside a dream, from flying across the skies to pushing a planet out of its orbit. There's endless possibilities you can accomplish. And yes, you can reenact any movies you want, let's say I am Legend, it's a good movie to reenact. Or if you want, you can also make your own sequels on some of the most famous movies. It's all up to you. Just stay patient, confident and motivated, and I'm sure you'll be able to have lucid dreams in no time

How long it takes to have your first lucid can greatly vary among people. I think it depends on the person, their patience, and determination. There are some people that can have their first lucid dream just after a few days. I think there have been a few people that have tried for over a year to lucid dream. There are even people that have lucid dreams before they even know what they are.

I think this is what you should really keep in mind though. It helps to tell yourself that you will have a lucid dream each night.

It usually takes 1 day to 2 weeks for a person to have his very first LD. I had my first LD after 2 weeks. Hope this helps
