Dreaming of others being lucid...

So I started learning to lucid dream over 2 months ago. I've been slow, but so far I have had 3 lucid dreams. I had my third this week, but I feel like I'm getting further away from being able to do it successfully. I have great dream recall, keep the journal, know my dream signs and I'm working on my RC's. However, I feel like I am getting further away from pulling it off. I'm having dreams of other people telling me how they just had a lucid dream... So in my actual dream, I have friends telling me about being lucid, and I remember wishing (in my dream) that it would happen to me. Then it continues on like a normal dream. I don't understand. I'm constantly thinking about being lucid, and even in my dreams I am thinking about it. Why can't I actually pull this off?

They are probably telling you about being able to do it and you wonder why you can't because you are like that in real life, simply put. I'm not one for thinking dreams all have reasons why they are what they are, but this seems pretty clear to me, and dreams can represent what you do/think of most often during the day. Like me for instance, I'm always on a battlefield and fighting wars- because I play BF3 a lot (too much). You obviously want a lucid dream really bad, which is good, but you have had 3 in 2 months, and that's quite good. Took me 6 months to have one, and only a few days ago (9 months after I started) did I have a proper length one. You are not falling behind everyone else (implying it was a race in the first place). What reasons do you have for thinking you are getting further and further away from pulling it off?
