Dreaming and questions about understanding?

Hello ALL,

I am a newbie here to Dreamview! So if someone has asked this question before, please don't flame me because I am asking it again.

Why is that when I sleep and dream, when I am on my left side I then to have very demonic or very evil dreams?
When I turn, I turn to the right side, I then have very peaceful and very happy dreams?

The styles of dream allways has me fighting demons or being attached by them on my left side and then very calm vivid dreams on my right.

Can anyone help me with this?

I am a pretty average guy with a vivid imagination. I am a very open spirit that believes in many things including god and jesus with some much more.

Thanks for your input
Makia

First of all, welcome!

That sounds like a strange problem you have. Personally, I have never noticed that my sleeping position affects the content of my dreams -- but then again I may have never paid enough attention to that kind of detail to notice.

This may just be something that you have unknowingly "trained" yourself to do -- if it is, then I would think it could be undone by the power of suggestion. But perhaps someone else here with more experience in that type of thing can give you a better answer. In the meantime, I would highly suggest you make an effort to sleep on your right side -- unless you enjoy some of those "demonic" dreams.

In any case, glad to have you with us, and I hope you stick around.

hiya! Welcome to DV!
i have to say, i've never noticed position of sleeping affecting my dreaming...
i'll have to look into that!
Although i find i can only sleep one way, on my front...and i'm not comfortable with everything else....i change my sleeping style once every three months maybe...
next time it comes around, i'll see if my dreams are different, and let you know!
hope you enjoy your stay here at DV

First of all, Welcome to the best forum on Earth Secondly, about your sleeping position, I cannot say that i knwo why your dreams haapen to be affect by yoru sleeping postion. Perhaps it is somethign that happend randomly a few times, and then after that you conditioned yourslef to have dreams when you go to certian positions. Im sure it would be a very interesting Reasarch experiment. WHy dont you go over there and make an experiment so we can all try it out ? Welcome to the family.

Hi Makia Welcome!

That does sound strange. We had a survey some time age about what position that you go to sleep. It did not seem to suggest anything paciluar though.
I know each hemishpere reacts differantly during REM. And I suppose chemicals in each hemishpere could play a role. But I have never heard of it.

I think TygrHawk has a good point.

There is some text about that. There is nothing about different dream, but it says that people have three times more lucid dreams who sleep on their right side.

Really? It always seemed to me that I had the most LDs when sleeping on my back, but my last LD did occur when I was on my right side. I'll have to experiment with this.

So it says, I haven't done any personal research myself yet (maybe becouse I read that today ) But I'll let you know if I try this. It's going to be a long process, but maybe I'll try it.

although last night i recalled three separate dreams, which i haven't done for a long time...i've finally got my brain back into the habit of waking up after each REM cycle...
