      Reality Checks not working

A couple nights ago, I was dreaming, and I thought, "Hey, this seems like a dream." so I did a reality check. I plugged my nose and tried to breathe, and... I couldn't breathe through my nose. I decided to be sure it wasnt a dream, so I tried to stick my finger through my hand, and it felt like it would in reality. I don't want this to happen again, does anybody know what could be causing this? Also, is there any way that I could make it so that it doesnt happen again?
Hey, haven't seen you around in a while
I didn't go to work for a month
I didn't leave my bed for eight days straight
I didn't feel angry or depressed
I didn't feel anything at all
I didn't want to go to bed
And I didn't want to stay up late

I think that hasn't failed anyone, better way to do that is to look at clock, look away and try to change the time in your head and then look at it again. I almost never see if I'm dreaming by RC's, but they are fun to do in LD.

Btw. Last night when I was dreaming and I was kind of busy I thought that I should do RC, because I havent for a while, I looked at my hand quickly (hands look weird in dreams) and after that I thought that I should do my RC's better, because if I fail RC I feel stupid in the morning. (And GOD I felt stupid in the morning)

I think that its very important you seriously question your state when you're doing RC's. Do them in the day time, if you're not already, and strictly focus on them. Don't just pass over an RC in waking time because you already believe you're awake. That has a way to passively testing yourself in your dreams, and expecting, even on a subconscious level, that your reality test is going to fail.
