      Hey

Hey, my name is Casey, I'm 18 years old and don't believe I've ever had a lucid dream or what not. I have never posted but I'm been looking on this website everyday for maybe only 2 weeks or so. I've been trying to gather tips and tricks for becoming a lucid dreamer. I think it's a great oppertunity to almost visit another world(not literally). But lately I have been trying to introduce myself to these meathods before I go to sleep. I haven't yet started to keep a dream journal but plan to do so here today. I do have trouble remembering dreams but I guess I will keep at it?? Anyways I think it's great what this website does and I hope everyone keeps it up. If anyone may have some personal advice to help me get started(otherwise I will keep reading the post) that would great. Thanks for everything

Hey there Casey, welcome to our humble forum!

I highly recommend that you do start to keep a dream journal. It should greatly increase your dream recall, which is very important in relation to lucid dreaming. Something else that may help you is when you are trying to go to sleep, repeat to yourself "I will wake up after I have a dream, and I will remember the dream". Then when you wake up, write down as much as you can remember right away, and try to recall the "feeling" of being in the dream.

Other than that, I would advise you to check out the Tutorials section (if you have not done so already), and read through the various methods that are discussed. Everyone needs to find what will work best for them. Personally speaking, I do best with a combination of MILD and WBTB.

Choose a method that you think may work for you, and try it for a week or two. Don't get discouraged if you don't have results right away -- it can take time to get your mind conditioned to do this.

If you have any specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Most everyone here is friendly and more than willing to help. Good luck!
