      Wondering what this is...

      Well, I've begun my journey down the road of Lucid Dreaming recently and I've begun to notice something about about entering my sleep.

      I've been using a CD I made to help induce the sleep and my awareness of it, and recently I have noticed that when I get to say... the count of 10, what is normally black turns into a sort of deep purple (no, not the band )/black/slightly orange pulse of colors... sort of like those seisure inducing flash movies. It's very odd, and I can feel myself start slipping into a different state of conciousness, but after I "realize" that this is happening, I wake up, completely energized as if I took a power nap.

      So I guess my question is, what is this?

      It starts as a small dot and grows into a circle a little bit bigger than the smilies. From this those random pulses of color emit, mold, and morph, around what I percieve as my vision. I see nothing but black and those colors.

      Is this what happens before I enter a dream state? My eyes move insanely rapidly as if it I were in REM, and this could go on for a number of minutes, but as soon as I realize this is happening, I wake up. I usually wake up from my arm slowly sinking into my pillow and hitting something such as a char, or it sometimes feels like someone is nudging me.

      Thanks =P.

This Method is WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream) read up the tutorials for more info. Actuly i dont know what to do after that becouse I cant get that phase myself once i realyse that the virations are hapening i wake up and then i quit for the day and go to sleep normal Maby some other members can give you Tips on how you...and me can get past the vibration stage. I dont see the colors tho. thats suposed to be halusiaion i hear voices before going in but i dont see colors. its diffrent for everyone. Good luck with the WILD path it seems to be working

      I only feel my eyes vibrate incredibly rapidly as if I were in REM, which I very well could be. My body starts to feel incredibly numb, heavy, and fuzzy. I also have the sensation that I am sleeping on an arc... sort of like this ( except with the hump facing up.

      It's odd though. From what I've read, people experience themselves getting heavier from their head down but it's the exact opposite for me. Atleast it's very relaxing =P.

      Yep, sounds like sleep paralysis and the beginnings of WILD to me. I wrote a tutorial on it a while back, i'll post you the link!
      The funny colours behind your eyes are Hypnagogic Imagery.
      By the way, welcome to the board!

      Incomplete WILD

      I don't know about the sleep paralysis though, at any point did you feel like you were unable to move?

      I believe that you were in one of the later stages of WILD. You were so close (& the REM thing has happened to me many times, too!)

      Thanks abunch guys. I wasn't fully paralyzed as I could move, but any movement would make the visionary lights fade.

      I tried it again after I first posted but I was too tired to get any of the effect, I would just sleep and wake up at any signs of voice =P.

      I'll give it another try tonight.
