What can be done in lucid dreams

I'm under the impression that you can do anything and be anywhere and have it look realistic in a lucid dream, am I right? If i wanted to, could I float outside of the matrix and just look at it, watching all of it's processes? If so, will it all be as realistic as real life? For those of you who have not seen the movie, the matrix is a huge machine that has humans in it and creates a virtual world for them.

Well, I only know little about this subject. But, yeah mostly anything can be done. However if the information would be accurate, I'm not sure about that. The reason is because I dont know if they body knows that info, and if not, how could it portray it in the dream. I think its only what is in your capacity of knowledge. So what ever is in your realm of reality will be in the dreams.

You'll find that the Dream Realm has its own laws and limitations. There is plenty of archived material here that you can catch up on. Honestly, this is a well traveled page by quite a few experienced dreamers. Read up and you will find that for every success and triumph for expectations, we must have more than a few dissappointments. it is all right here. Get to reading.

in a lot of ways, lucid dreaming is only limited by your imagination...

From a logical point of view I would say that anything that your conscious and subconscious mind has witnessed could be reproduced with some variations of the imagination.

This is good to know, I(by what i've seen) have a very powerful mind/imagination. That is why I would like to start trying to get lucid. I'm one of those unfortunate people who remember nothing when they wake up. I realized that I am missing out on 1/3 of my life, as well as the ability to make a fireball or orb of energy with my bare hands . That would indeed be awesome.

      Welcome to the forum!

Yeah Lucid Dreaming is as real as it gets. And as stated above only you imagination can limit your experience.. and after a time if you think thats not enough... you can always try going beyond

Actually isnt it more right to say 1/6 of our lives? Because maximum half of a sleep cycle is in REM. Unless one is so advanced that one is consciouss of the non-rem stages to. Wondered about that for a time...

Yes, if you really work at it, you can make your dreams as vivid as real life. I'm not terribly good, so mine usually retain a little stiffness, but as you can see by the testimony of others, you can reach a point where you might not be able to immediately know whether you were dreaming or awake.

The limits of lucid dreaming span far beyond conscious imagination. Things that you've seen in your life time that you've long since consciously 'forgotten' are still shelved in the back of your subconscious. Everything in life that you've taken in through your senses, sights, sounds, smells, tastes, etc, that you've come in contact with you, can be brought back to your in dreams. It is for this reason that many people use lucid dreaming as a field of self improvement, a training facility for the mind utilized before the hours of going to sleep and waking. One of the most exhilirating (sp) features of lucid dreaming is Hightened Senses in the dreamworld. Once you are conscious that you are dreaming, you tend to Sense everything a little more clearer. Its like adjusting the resolution on a computer monitor and clearing the audio of any distortion, the whole world becomes more clear and your experience gets just that much deeper.
