      my introduction

Hi - I'm new to this forum. I used to have lucid dreams all the time when I was younger and I thought everyone could... When I got into my teens and early twenties I seemed to stop having so many - but when I was 24 I got into meditation and I started to have them again.

I'm 27 now and have been practising some of the techniques that are on your forum (such as reality checks) but mostly I just seem to realise I'm dreaming and then become lucid.

I've also noticed that the more meditation I do, the more lucid dreaming I can do.

At the moment I'm looking to have more lucid dreams (I get around 1 or 2 a month now) and I'm also trying to learn how not to wake up as soon as I get lucid. Mostly I guess I'm trying to see if I can get back to how I was when I was 5 and had lucid dreams every night!

      Any help really appreciated!

      Welcome to Dream Views

My main advice for not waking up as soon as you get lucid is to try your best to remain calm. Maybe restrict yourself at first to doing simple tasks, then gradually increase what you do as you get more and more control over not waking up. But to be honest, I still have trouble with that myself. Especially when I have my LD so close to when I wake up normally anyway

So good luck with that and keep us posted

The best way to remain in a LD is to relax, & not get stressed or excited.

My two best lucid dreams ever both had one thing in common. I took them slowly and was able to remain extremely calm. Other than a little telekinesis,( I was playing with some dishes, levitating them and such) I stuck to the norm. I used a computer, and went for a walk along. This seemed to greatly prolong them as well as keeping them extremely vivid and clear. I'd say to keep it simple at first. Simple dreams have a pretty awesome potential.

Thanks for the advice - I'll try and keep calm and keep it simple...

By the way, everytime I have had a lucid dream, I've felt a lot more calm and "sane" when awake. Anyone else found that? It's like, after having controlled my mind when I'm asleep, it's more under control when I'm awake.

      YES!!!

I always feel so mentally refreshed after a good LD, like my life was completely under control and I could do anything. But of course it doesn't last. =/
