Just started, cant remember a thing

Hey guys, my name is Jackson. I hit this website a couple of days ago, and last night, tried for the first time to lucid dream. I followed several peoples advice, and floowed the patterns on my eyelids, imagined myself racing, and constantly checked to see if i was dreaming. I really cant remember much, something about an attack and a woman comforting a victim. I wrote some of it down.

Im not sure where to go next. I keep trying to check my awareness during the day. Should i wait a couple months for results, or will it be as short as 2 weeks?

      Hi Jackiechan311!

Sounds to me that you are on the right track. Have you read Exploring the World of Lucid dreaming yet? It has all kinds of useful information for those that are starting out.

But, it sounds like you are already on your way. Keep up your dream journal and keep up testing reality.
You will probably have your first sometime just before you get up in the morning. Some people take a few days, some take a few months. Just don't get frustrated and give up.

      It is worth the effort!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

don't worry about not remembering much. even if you don't remember anything, just sit and try to rememer something, like maybe places you often visit that may have been in the dream, people you think about alot, or even feelings...how did you feel when you woke up....chances are, you'll get SOMETHING. it may not be big...but still, it's a start. you could remember a part from a dream later in the day, something around you may trigger a memory, maybe something someone says...just keep that up, and soon you'll be recording whole dreams, then even several in one night!

after you build up your dream recall, it is possible to have a lucid dream. if not, there are several techniques you can use, all of which are discussed in this website. a good book to have is Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge.

some people have a lucid dream the first night they learn what it is. for some it takes months. average is about a week. I wouldn't worry too much about it, as long as you desire to have lucid dreams and take some time to work at it, you'll have one in no time. good luck and welcome to DreamViews!

      That hurt, seriously.
For EVERYONES information, I am on two times a day, and every time that i am on, i look for NOOBS, and if their is a new person, i PM each and EVERY ONE OF THEM, and welcome them in a friendly and warm way...if you dont believe me, just ask anyone of them since i've been welcomer. and i love this job, and really am trying to meet up to ice's expectations. serously, cause if i dont he will 'kick my ass'

Like the others said. If you have determintation then it wont take long to get a lucid dream. For me it took 2 weeks for my first one.

yeah, just because he's the official newbie welcomer doesn't necessarily mean he has to welcome them first. ^_^

By the way im 18, I live in Maine, still in high school, pretty good with computers, and ive never really taken part in a bbs or forum.
