      Crazy WILD attempt!

I've never lucid dreamed before, and i really want to. I've tried to practice for DILD, doing regular reality checks, but i have a horrible dream recall. Two nights ago, i tried WILD before bed. The first time, i experienced my body shaking, and my heartbeat was louder. I got bored and stopped because nothing was happening. I tried a couple of minutes after, and the only experience was fading blurs of purple. The next morning i felt motivated, happy, smooth, and my body was kinda waving side to side a little bit. That night, last night, i tried it but i woke up at 4 am. I was on a full bladder, sleeping mask, and extremely tired, and i just fell asleep. Tonight i'm thinking of waking at 4 am, going to the washroom and emptying my bladder and splashing water on my face, then trying to WILD.

      Questions:
      1. What did i do wrong
      2. Why did i not get farther in the WILD than shaking/strong heart beats/Colorful lights?
      3. What would i do in the shakiness/lights stage?
      4. Why did i feel the way i felt the day after? Was it just the placebo effect?
      5. Would it work tonight?

You did nothing wrong.... you will get used to sleep paralysis and hypnogogia over time. I would suggest visualizing something when you reach hypnogogia (that's the weird blobs of colors or odd patterns you see )... make it simple initially. Imagination is the stuff that dreams are made of.

Trying WILD before a DILD is achieved isn't recommended. I know you've heard people say "but, it is possible!" but you really will have the easiest time focusing on mastering DILD. You don't have a bad dream recall, you simply aren't following the instructions to a T. Seriously do EVERY little last thing you are recommended and don't skimp. Eventually you will get into a routine of doing these things after a few weeks and, almost magically, DILD will be yours. I can't stress how important it is to get a routine going. That routine of keeping a DJ, doing reality checks, keeping your time to bed within about a 2 hour window (You can skimp somewhat on this one as long as you don't do it consistently) and stay focused on wanting that LD you will have a DILD. No lies. No tricks or gimmicks. Put in the effort and you will DILD. I know I jumped far away from your questions (I haven't mastered WILD yet so I can't really attest to what troubles you might be having) but that was just my little soap box as to when people say they can't DILD for some reason. It's always recommended to DILD before WILDing so keep trying to get into that routine before you attempt a WILD. The skills you learn from DILD will be so valuable later.

Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind. When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence. So a man who is seeking to understand violence does not belong to any country, to any religion, to any political party or partial system; he is concerned with the total understanding of mankind.”

      1. What did i do wrong
There is no good or bad. Each individual is different. Maybe the only thing you did wrong, was lack of patience, as for what I read, you were extremely close to experience a Lucid Dream or an OBE. But that is okay, WILD requires practice, and for your 2nd attempt, you had an amazing progress.

      2. Why did i not get farther in the WILD than shaking/strong heart beats/Colorful lights?
You got too excited at this stage. You started to experience this altered state and you lost your concentration. This is completely normal, it happened to us all, do not feel bad about it.

      3. What would i do in the shakiness/lights stage?
Just observe this stage. Do not focus on it too much, but do not ignore it either. You have two options here:

      • Ignore the actual shaking/colors and start to imagine in your head a dream scenario. Try to engage your senses and try to imagine you are dreaming. Try to engage sight, hearing, touch and smell. Tell yourself in your head you are dreaming and you are fully conscious and fully lucid. You will soon realize you are in a dream and not longer in bed, but you will know that your physical body is in bed. Welcome to Lucid Dreaming.
      • You can imagine your body getting lighter and lighter. Visualize that your shaking becomes stronger and more intense. You will start hearing strong buzzing noises. Keep focusing on increasing your energy and imagine you are floating. Soon, you will be a floating "ghost" over your bed, where you will see your actual body sleeping. Welcome to the Astral Plane!

      4. Why did i feel the way i felt the day after? Was it just the placebo effect?
NO You increased the energy within your body, awakened your chakras and connected with a higher source of knowledge. You rose the vibrations of your aura and thus feeling better, more happy, positive feelings as well as more energized. Focus more on this!

      5. Would it work tonight?
Patience is your best friend. However, if you can get to the "shaking" stage easily... follow my advice and indeed you will lucid dream tonight. I am going to reply to this with, "If you get to shaking, you will lucid dream tonight." Getting to the shaking stage is the hardest, from there, you are pretty much done if you do not get too excited.

Tried it last night. First before bed, i got to a point where my leg was pulsating, whenever i would kinda notice my leg pulsing, it would stop, i didn't move out of that stage and nothing else happens, i thought it was too early to imagine anything because i was completely away of my surroundings. (could hear my parents moving, i knew for sure where my body was in my room) I woke up at 4 am, splashed water on my face, and kinda woke myself. I tried to WILD but i think i fell asleep. Gah, i really want to LD!!

Wait, did my pulsing/shaking leg mean i could've started visualizing? Because i got to that stage pretty quick, and i was aware of everything outside.

When you wake up at 4, try staying up for no longer than an hour while reading about lucid dreaming, so you don't fall asleep.

30 minutes might be a good start.
