      A little help getting started

I just heard of this in a magazine and thought this is something for me.

When i think back I have been able to "control" some of my dreams, but not go where i want to go or do whatever i want, but i can stop in a middle of a dream and think: this is a quite boring dream.. i wonder how much the clock is, then i go to the bathroom and look at the time, then go back to bed. Then if i want, i can resume the dream i just had, with really small corrections. I cant really remember much dreams, just a couple of dreams a week or so, but i havent really thought about remembering them, and really often i wake up in the middle of the night (about every second night), half awake and half asleep, and can as i described resume, or make small corrections to the dream.

What i wonder is: is this completely normal or is this some kinda lucid dreaming?

I would love to be adopted by someone out there, and i know i have to wait two weeks, but if anyone could be so nice and give me some advice and/or help, feel free to add me to MSN messenger, post here or give me a PM.

I think LD could really help me, as i have some problems (like the big question about the meaning of life, and stuff like that).

      Thx in advance

I've tried to resume dreams after awakening, but it never worked. That's quite the ability you have there, and you even get to make corrections! It's certainly some kind of lucid dreaming, as you can control the dream through the corrections (if only a little). Do you make the corrections while awake (as in, focussing on the part you want changed as you fall asleep, and then the dream takes over), or do you make them while asleep?

Oh, and although I'm in no place to welcome anyone because I'm still new myself, I'm still going to do it. Welcome.

Hmm, this sounds like it could be Wake Back to Bed. Which is basically when you wake up, go to the bathroom, go back to bed, and resume where you left off...there's some good info on it in the tutorial section, if you're interested in checking that out.

What i wonder is: is this completely normal or is this some kinda lucid dreaming?
It sounds like it could be a regular dream, and it's perfectly normal. The key thing with a lucid dream, is to know absolutely that you are dreaming. i can often control something in a dream, but not realise i'm dreaming...it's a funny kind of paradox!

I would love to be adopted by someone out there, and i know i have to wait two weeks, but if anyone could be so nice and give me some advice and/or help, feel free to add me to MSN messenger, post here or give me a PM.
Check your inbox, i've posted you a 'welcome packet' with a few links for you to read through, including adoption regulations!!
Let me know how you get on, feel free to PM me if you have any more questions!

LD's can be a great way of exploring 'impossible' scenarios, for problem solving or working something out. I tend to use them to explore possibilities to situations that could never come true in real life, or to explore aspects of myself that i'm not happy with in the waking world.
For example, I recently had a 'lucid nightmare' which, when i had interpreted it, told me that i should be less afraind of my emotions, and accept them as a part of me. Which has really helped!

yes, i make the "corrections" while awake. I focus on the part i want changed and it changes. But i cant focus on an entire new scene or make big corrections, just small ones, and i never really thought about it.

hmm...i think if you continue to practise with the small changes, the bigger ones will come in time.
      that's my theory, anyhow.
