      Just saying hello!

Found this site today and I think it's fascinating. I've run across other sites on lucid dreaming and was interested, but they seemed to tie it to psychic phenomena more than anything else. Though I believe it's possible that such abilities may exist, there's probably nobody more un-psychic than myself. So attempting to lucid dream didn't seem worth pursuing.

However, from the information found here, it sounds as though I may have already experienced a mild form of lucid dreaming. Sometimes (usually it seems to be in the moments just before I wake up) there are parts of a dream where I feel like I am "writing the script" or influencing the actions of dream characters while still seeing events and feeling as if I am there. Of course they don't always do what I'm trying to tell them to, and it will sometimes change back into a more normal dream state even before being woken up.

When it comes to dream recall, I'm not sure how much to work on that. As long as I'm not distracted by something else, I can usually remember two or three fairly long and complicated sequences of events. Whether these are all the dreams I've had that night or just a small fraction of them, I honestly don't know.

Anyway, I've always been very interested in dreams and will definitely be around and about here now and then.

      Hi, welcome to the board!
it sounds like you may have had what is known as low level lucidity, where you have a small amount of control over the dream world.
As to recall, work on it as much as you can, i say. In the morning, when you wake up, write down whatever it was you were dreaming about.
This helps to sort it all into some sort of order, and as time goes on and you recall more dreams, you'll notice recurring themes or events within your dreams. These are known as dreamsigns, and they enable you to question whether you are dreaming or not, so that you can consciously go lucid.
      Hope this helps!
By the way, i've left a Private message in your inbox, with a few more things for you to check out if you're interested.
Feel free to PM me or another dreamguide. We're in green.
