hi lucid dreamers! |

Welcome to DV, NowAwake. Your screen name could fool you, so watch out for that, it is a name to reassure you that you are now awake, but you could dream of DV some day, and see your name, and you need to realize that you may not be awake now. |

yes but it is the opposite for me! you see this life is an illusion and not less then a dream. only when you sleep (die) you will be awaken. death is not the end of life but it is the end of a dream. we will be awaken but in the plane other then this material world which will be forever lasting. In Quran it is written (my translation) "and he is the one who give you death every night and give you life every day so that you thank him". so for me to sleep is actually to be awaken. |

Ah! Thank you for the interesting explanation. That is indeed a different way of looking at things. I guess your "now awake" would be kind of like now aware? I think awareness is a good goal in waking, dreaming, and even in death. I am still not very good at awareness, but I am trying to improve, and the more aware I become the more I become aware of some of the false assumptions about waking and dreaming. More and more often I question whether a momory is from waking or dream, and the more I realize that sometimes it is hard or impossible for me to tell. But while I find it harder to tell my past state because i see ambiguity in memories, I am hoping to get better at recognizing my present state as awake or asleep. My best friend is Muslim and I am Christian by the way, and I am glad that she and I believe in the same God even if we worship him differently. |

This is funny, I'd thought I'd lean over one of your explanations and reject the other, but I find myself liking both of them. As they say, world is not black in white, but I'm still learning how to get rid of false dichotomies. |
