Trying to have Lucid Dreams in your dream..

Before falling asleep today I kept telling myself to dream, and kept asking myself if I was dreaming. When I was finally in my dream I was still trying to fall asleep in my dream and induce a lucid dream.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? It's the closest i've been to an actual lucid dream without waking up right away. Usually I find out i'm dreaming and wake up after what it seems to be seconds in my dream state.

Well, I've tried WILDing in my dreams, though neither time was successful. I'd say that the best thing to do is still to occasionally do reality checks when you're going to sleep. Whenever you think about wanting to LD, do a reality check. Getting in the habit of RCing will greatly improve your chances of having a lucid dream.

I have also sometimes dreamed that I was dreaming. Unfortunately, what happened to you is not a real lucid dream because you didn't realize that you were dreaming, you though that you were lying in your bed trying to induce a lucid dream. The important thing is that you kept thinking about dreaming and lucidity in your dream, which may help you another time. Try to do reality checks more often. Also keep in mind that reality checks sometimes fail (it has happened to me) so even if you don't apper to bedreaming, do the RC again or try with a different type of RC.

I remember an experience I had that was like a ‘dream within a dream:-

It started when I became aware of dreaming within the dream, I floated towards the ground and closed my eyes, placed my arms on my knees and totally relaxed my body. I felt like my body was swaying slowly forwards and backwards within my mind without moving, then the speed slowly increased, I began to feel all wavy and lose in form, like existing beyond my body, my mind was my existence! I got really scared and wanted to open my eyes. I became aware of being inside a dream but also aware that I was meditating within the dream so it was like double layer consciousness for me, a dream within a dream so to speak. I have to admit it has changed my simple perspective and view on 'Lucidity'. I knew I could reach different dimensional states of awareness without actually thinking about it in waking life.....

After I mediated I found myself noticing details (like when people mention an LSD trip) looking at my hand and watching it change shape, looking at my reflection in the mirror and seeing two images, fighting in slow motion etc.

      -------

I always seem to fall alsleep in my dreams, so i have dreams within dreams but when i wake up i get really confused and never know how to 'connect' the experiences.

Could it be possible that to dream inside a dream, is to awake in another reality?

... or maybe, a different dimension? or is dreaming in its self, a door to anthoner demension?

      I have another idea...

When you look into a mirror, you see yourself. When you look at a reflection of a mirror, you see an infinite amount of reflections with in it, and if you reflect yourself while reflecting a mirror, not only do you see an infinite amount of mirrors but your self as well in an infinite form but each is off kilter more and more... Maybe dreaming inside a dream or dreaming in general is a way to get into those "mirrors" (so to speak) and possibly those mirrors are doors to a different "you"...

**ever notice, as you look at the reflections farther down the line, you start to become out of the picture of the mirror... this perfectly demonstrates theorys in quantom physics
