I'm new, and I think I'm getting somewhere

      Hello!!

I've been trying to lucid dream for about a month now, and last night I think I got somewhere, so i got on the web, found this website and joined!

Anyway, I was in this dream where I was at school, and for some reason I was naked. I could hear people coming and I panicked because there was nothing there to cover myself in, and then I realised, hey, it's a dream, it doesn't matter. So when they came in I just walked out normally as if I was wearing clothes and everything was fine!

I did realise it was a dream, but I wasn't actually in my body, I felt like I was standing on the sidelines just watching myself happen. Perhaps I was dreaming of being almost lucid? I'm not sure, and I know it wasn't full lucidity, as I didn't really have a choice of what I was doing, it just happened. I seemed to lose whatever I had though, because then the dream just turned back into a normal dream, but I know that for one moment I knew it was a dream.

Am I getting somewhere or was that just an ordinary dream that happened to be 'about' lucidity? Any advice or anything will be deeply appreciated. Thank you!!

      Welcome.
You most certainly are getting somewhere. You accomplished quite a few things already. You already have fairly decent dream recall, which is vital, along with a good grasp on some of your personal dreamsigns. Check out some of the techniques on the site to develop your ablities further.

      Welcome to Dream Views PlainGraySky

Sounds like you were lucid to me. It was just really quick, and perhaps a semi-lucid. Sometimes I have dreams where I know I'm dreaming, but I don't have great dream control. That's just something that gets better with practice.

      hey Sky,

      and then I realised, hey, it's a dream, it doesn't matter.[/b]
Do you happen to know what it was exactly that made you come to this conclusion? Was it a feeling, the out of the ordinary situation, dreamsign, or something else?

Just wondering because some members claim that they just know they're dreaming - it's like a feeling. While I've had a number of LD's, I'm hoping to someday experience this "feeling" so that I will be able to just remember it and not depend so much on chance, dreamsigns or other external signals.

      Good luck and

I just suddenly knew it wasn't reality. I couldn't remember how I'd got into that situation at all, I was just suddenly there. But as soon as I got this feeling I lost it. I need to work on that
