      Awakening

      Greetings all

Finally, after some weeks of reading through the forum and trying to learn from the tutorials, I've decided to register here. I've had lucid dreams and OOBEs when I still was a kid but I didn't realise it until a few month ago. I am now 23 years old and I am desperately trying to get my abillities back that I somehow lost while growing up.

I had a series of dreams in the last few months that were different from anything else I've experienced before. Although I didn't have lucid dreams, they "felt" and "looked" so real that I could remember nearly every detail once I woke up and even now, weeks and months afterwards, I still remember them clearly.

The first dream started out rather frightening. I was swimming in black water, everything around me was dark and the only source of light was a few burning wood planks. Something terrible must have happened here... I could see dead bodies drifting around on the surface and suddenly I felt a hand grabing my feet from below. I tried to pull the nearly lifeless body closer to me. In a last attempt to survive the woman put her hand around my neck and with the little air that was left in her lungs, she said "I've been waiting for you".

I've since dreamed 3 more times of her and everytime she was trying to tell me something. Sadly, the only other sentence I can remember clearly was "Life is short, but we still have all the time we need." When I think about those dreams I feel touched deeply as if this was a real person. I never missed anyone like I do miss this woman. And please believe me, I've dreamed of a lot of women! Something is different with those dreams and I hope that I can find some answers here.... or at least a way to get better control of my dreams and thus a better way to communicate with her.

This concludes my first (and rather long *sigh*) post. I hope some of you took the time to read through it, although my English skills might not be the best.

      Best Regards
      Inflamez

      PS
Some of you might argue, that I only dream of women, because I never had a relationship. This is far from the truth. Those dreams occured while I was in a very fulfilling relationship, which lasted for more then 3 years.

Greetings, inflamez! I'm glad that you joined us here at DV and that you are able to find answers to your questions.

I do not profess to be any expert on dream interpretation, as my main emphasis is that nearly all of our dreams are nothing more than a(n often warped) reflection of our waking life. There are some dreams that are completely out of the ordinary and I believe that it is those we should take into account, especially the ones that beg to be remembered. I'll try to think on this some more. Let us know if you need anything else

      Enjoy your time here

      Hey Inflames and

I bet just about everyone here has had those really vivid (even though non-lucid) dreams at one point or another. In fact, it was a few of these types of dreams that led me to DreamViews. All I wanted to know was if it was possible to make yourself dream about something before going to bed - instead I found out there's way more to dreaming than I ever thought possible!

Anyway, I'm no expert on dream interpretation either - but I have read a couple books which covered the topic. Dreams not only incorporate what we experience in waking life (like Star mentions above) but also uses images and symbols to represent things within ourselves. You might want to try and not focus so much on this woman as "a woman", but try and see if there is something going on in your life or within yourself that is struggling or even in danger of disappearing or dying.

For example, you may have somekind of goal that you wanted to accomplish but have been neglecting it for some reason. I don't know, let's say you've always wanted to learn how to play guitar or something. For some reason, you just haven't gotten around to it yet. You may subconsiously be thinking that you may never get to it, that "time is running out". This woman may not be a person at all, but a desire you have within you that is in need of your attention. This desire is telling you (in the form of a woman) that "Life is short, but we still have all the time we need" to accomplish this goal.

That's the thing about dreams, for some reason they always gotta speak to you in riddles or something. It's up to you to learn how to decode your own mind's way of speaking to you through them.

Ah, this all might seem like jibberish - but I hope this helps you in some way.

Thank you for Amethyst Star and Tornado Joe for giving me such a warm welcome. I feel that it was a good decision to register here. Let me write a few more sentences in response to your posts.

So it seems that we somehow had the same, mind changing, experiences which have led us to Dreamviews. I always knew that there was more to dreaming then most of the psychologists make us believe. Nevertheless, we have a different motivation to train our lucidity. I would never try to \"induce\" some sort of image or theme when I go to sleep, since I dont want to change and affect my dream world in any way. My aim with achieving lucidity is a rather scientific and experimental one, I want to learn more about this new \"dimension\" or whatever you want to call it. I want to be able to think, feel and observe while dreaming and, as a result or next step, be able to communicate and interact with my surroundings.

Wow, maybe that was just a guess right there, but you really made a valid point. I always wanted to play guitar and never really had a chance to learn it properly (although I own 2 electric and one acoustic guitar). Nevertheless I think this interpretation is a little far fetched. It might be true for some other dreams I had and it's definately possible that some of the people or beeings I meet in my dreams, are just a mirror of my subconsiousness. The one thing that sticks out with the dreams mentioned above is that they are reoccuring but never tell me the same thing twice! It seems like they are telling me a whole story and not only try to convey a certain subconsious wish / fear.

Amen brother! Exactly my thoughts and that's what I am here for. I dont want to interpret (or "guess" which is about the same thing for me really), but I want to learn.
