      I have a dream!

I'm gonna level with you, if you asked me about my dreams I would say, "I don't remember my dreams." I haven't remembered my dreams in what seams like 4-5 years. Any dream that I do remember were ones that were so vivid and real that they have stuck with me my whole life. I even specifically remember going lucid in a dream when I was like 7, but not gaining any control, just aware I was dreaming, but I never knew was it was.

So I stumbled upon the idea of lucid dreaming and my first thought was "I could never do that." and then my second thought, "I've gotta try that." So then I did a bit (lot) of research and found a set of methods and ideas that I felt made the most sense to me. These were making a dream journal, doing frequent reality checks, and practicing all day awareness. The ladder, was an incredible experience by itself.

Doing (or at least trying) all day awareness felt like being reborn. I realized how detached I became from the outside world I was and how useless I felt was just auto piloting everything. Even if its mentally draining and I have to take frequent breaks, its addicting to use all of my senses to their maximum. Even if I never get a lucid dream, I wont regret trying this. The reality checks feel useless right now, even though I genuinely try to doubt my surroundings I don't have much dream experience to base it on.

But even with that, last night I broke new ground. I remembered a dream! I was awfully vivid, I was barley aware of what was happening, it lasted like 10 seconds, ect. But I remembered it, and I still remember it right now. It was incredible to just randomly think, "I remember my dream last night" and actually mean it.

But that's my story so far, I'm far from lucid, heck I'm at the bottom of the totem pole right now, but I'm having a ton of small victories every day.
